RIP, sad news
|
R.I.P. to one of the old timers.
|
only met him once..but he was very cool to us. Sucks so many people we know will be dropping off going forward.
RIP |
I have know Nick the board persona since 1999, sometime around 2010 I got to know him a little better because of a private message board Serge had set up.
2012 when MaxCash was at the end as I know it and Aly and I both lost our jobs at the same time he was there, hand out, "come on mate" let's make some money. 5 years ago Tuesday he picked me up at Heathrow, which started one of the most memorable trips I have ever taken. The most gracious host I have ever know, a tremendous and loyal friend, and the most loving father one could be. We have made a boatload of money together since then. I am so thankful to have seen the softer side of you Jon. Rest in Peace my friend, I am stepping up my cunt game in your honor. |
He mentioned you and Jel in glowing terms the few times I spoke to him. Never met him for real but had planned to share a pot of tea with him and Jel (now here's a cunt in the making) the next time he was over.
RIP Jon, was great knowing you even if it was just for a short while. |
Oh wow, he was a fun guy! RIP!

Got home about two hours ago. You could make a movie about Jon's life. We used to talk about how no one would believe it. The love at his Funeral was overwhelming. His eldest daughter gave a beautiful speech, filled with Nickatilynx'isms, albeit the PG rated ones. But even those elicited guffaws and laughter from everyone there, he will be missed. I have yet to meet anyone who would light up a room and take center stage like Jon could. He was the Master, and he knew it. The Whitaker boys represented, Technick, me, Colin, and Shoei. I know we've all gone our separate ways, but everything Nickatilynx taught us still resonates in our lives. We all agreed his most precious quote was "An excuse is a reason for failure". We learned that if you fuck up, you fuck up, that's how you learn. But if you need an excuse, you won't learn anything.
He lived the life of six men. He burned brighter than those around him, he was one in a million. So much of what you see now is due to him, from PPS being higher, to email marketing, to the earlier AVS site building, to early SEO, and more. Rest in peace Brother. We'll see each other again. |
