That's pretty cool. I bet it's a massive script(s). How do you deal with a daunting script? Do you pre-plan and make on the fly changes that did not fit into your plan? Or do you just start writing and as something comes up, write code to deal with it?

I keep learning something new, and wanting to go back and clean up some stuff I have already completed and or make it better. It seems each day I have a new idea to better globalize my code to control all of my sites and make a task even easier. Is it a constant go back and fix, or is that what they call... "code maintenance"?

yea i think its all about maintaining data and content integrity. you can change everything around the content and data as long as its reading and writing the same data and content.

changing data or content structure is a bit more work :Oh crap

i have a lot of scripts running in the background crunching data as its coming in. we have an almost live stream of traffic stats (2-3 minutes lag).

Well, I launced my paysite TrueAmateurModels.com 13 years ago, and before that, I ran a couple of sites ..starting in the year 2001. So yeah, I suppose I am kinda old school. The paysite is obviously still kicking too ...and with plenty of members. I only wish that I had started back in 1995 or so. I hear that those were the "golden years". :)

i dunno about the 90s, but you were in business during what is considered the online porn gold rush from 2000-2006. it made a lot of millionaires but they are a small fraction compared to the number of sites that went up.

i've been in a couple millionaire flows - and a hell of a lot of them that weren't lol

my pov was always that porn is better than corporate work. the industry almost dried up until about last year. now we're seeing a resurgence in the paysite market, mainly in niches, especially gay niches.

That's interesting. I noticed sales dropping a bit over the last couple of years, but not that much really. It's been picking up lately too.
So you think that you are seeing a resurgence in the paysite market? Can you go a little more into detail? How exactly so?
I am just curious to hear about your thoughts on the matter.

phil-flash 11-20-2017 11:01 AM

Resugence might be due to renewed confidence in the US economy. Maybe if tax reform gets passed, then poeple will have more expendable income.

that will definitely help :thumbsup

i still gotta check out your new sites. i ended up coding all weekend. rebuilt the 'views' script to pull from traffic data instead of browser clicks. 100% accurate view stats now.

i have stats on a couple hundred wide ranging sites and those indicate much better market health lately. i've seen some $1k days for sites that haven't had those days since last December.

that's not the real indicator for me tho. threads like this are showing more interest by veterans to get back into the game. most of the guys that really understand internet porn - and made early money - took off or retired and kept their knowledge with them. Even JT was greatly helpful to people but he's too rich to work now. Shap is back and so is Phil Flash. i think we'll see some good growth in 2018.

there's other stats and indicators but the main thing is renewed interest on the production side as well as the buyer side.

Thanks for the compliment!

No filters man, I may have edited a blemish or two in Photoshop, maybe a piece of fuzz that was on the floor, and then took it into Lightroom and manually adjusted the white balance, exposure, color, and sharpness. No smoothing or filters.

I have tried the Portraiture smoothing filters, and in my opinion they do not work for sets of pictures. It looks as if someone ran them through a filter and it just looks fake to me. Even if I turn the settings all the way down. I try to avoid batch processing with filters for the most part.

However, I do like to play with the Portraiture filters on close up portraits or images that I decide to make black and white for fun. Those can turn out pretty cool, but I don't do that for set content.
