lol, the dude shaved his chest and dyed his hair on the same day

and if anything, thats stretch marks

also, look at the difference the tanning made

isnt it weird how his six-pack just kind of "appears" out of nowhere?

Take another protein shake 40g ? (thats added to the one I take after my workout)

Can you do that?

and do you need that much protein even the days you dont workout?

yeah, heres what I would suggest

example bodyweight = 185 lbs
daily suggested protein intake = 185x1.5 = 277.5
divide that up between 6 meals = roughly 45 gm protein per meal

so yes, an extra 40g of protein (with milk) will be perfect

also, for a meal you can eat two cans of tuna with some relish + light ranch or mayo

turkey burgers (if you must have bread, eat wheat, not white)

Hormel Turkey chili (tastes great, but high in sodium)

cottage cheese (eat before bed to feed your body while you sleep.. I can't stand the shit but if you can, it will do wonders I hear)

chicken breasts (cook em up quick on a george foreman grill)

you can get a weeks worth of this kind of stuff for like $40-50, it shouldnt be too hard to get to your total

He says he did it in 5 months.

The work out seems easy enough... and impressive results.
But check out his diet.... virtually no fat... none... nada... nothing!!

That's the part I'd fall apart and crumble on within my first pepsi.

i've been liftin about 5 to 6 days every week for about 2 3/4 years now.. and i've made a lot of gains.. but one of my weakpoints has always been my diet.

i gained a lactose intolerance recently so i can't drink milk anymore which was a big part of my diet... i also can't drink any type of protein DRINK EITHER! even if it is lactose intolerance, for some reason it still hurts my stomach...

so im 180 now (i was a bit over 190, but i lost weight cause of the lactose intolerance)..

and so now, all i can eat is tuna / chicken / eggs... and i have to get all my protein from FOODS..

so im thinking somewhere up there like 4 cans of 32g's of protein of tuna a day... like fucking 2 70g tuna breasts a day... like 5 eggs... 4 pb&j, i might be able to do it... but i dont know..

someone said u should have over 2 cans of tuna a day.

suggestions?

You work out too much for a person with an ecto-mesomorph bodytype. Cut your schedule to one on one off.

Protein? Hmm... did you try soy? Lactaid?

nah i dont, lol... i do everything once a week basically... chest one day, legs another... back, shoulders, bis, tris, on their own days

and yeah i tried lactaid but it was hurting my stomach after awhile, at first i was fine with it, but then it started hurting after i drank it.. so i have no idea WHY...

i tried the lactose free protein drinks, several diff types... and it didn't help..

someone told me it may be because i'm not getting enough fiber, which could have been true... but i'm too fuckin scared to try cause it is NOT fun goin through the aftermath. :(

try Nectar protein, its a new fruit-flavored protein that you can mix with water, and tastes unbeleivable (according so some very reliable sources)

what the hell happened to that guy with the stitches on his bicep?

beemk 05-21-2003 02:29 AM

try this protein ball recipe i've been using lately. they taste great.

1 cup protein powder
1 cup peanut butter (creamy)
1 tsp. olive oil
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup high fiber bran cereal crunched up (i put it in a ziplock bag and use a cookie rollor to crunch it)
1/4 cup of chocolate chips (you can chop them up if you want)

mix everything very well and when its done mixing roll them into balls. make sure you refrigerate them.

precisely, thats why you work out every body part only once a week... to allow that part of your body to rest for 7 days, while working other parts of your body

If you really wanna gain crazy size quickly find the 100 rep squat routine or the 100 rep deadlift routine. Nothing makes people gain faster than that without gearing up. The problem is only a few people have the heart to handle the routine.

i do 20 rep squats and deadlifts. they work great and take the life right out of you. wtf is this 100 rep routine? there's no way its 100 straight, you'd end up using such a low amount of weight it wouldn't really do a lot imo.

galleryseek 05-21-2003 12:40 PM

i've just seriously started to do deadlifts and squats, with real heavy weight, usually pyarmiding through 8 sets...

so it has indeed helped my overall strength on upperbody... bench has increased a lottt.

No, that's not the way it works. You start with your 4-6 rep max and do continuous descending sets. In other words you remove a little weight when you top out until there is no weight left on the bar. There are no rest breaks in between. You should have a problem standing up after you finish. Going down stairs is impossible.

Trust me, it's absolutely the most grueling quick workout you can do. You will throw up at least the first few times.

throwing up means you overdone it. i use drop sets on leg press sometimes, but its only when i have a friend around to take the plates off.

the 20 rep squats work much better. around 15 your legs are burning. great way to start a work out because you're just exhausted after that.

i eat AT LEAST that much every day. i was doing over 3500 when i was taking weight gainer shakes. go to gnc and check out some weight gainer. rich desserts or junk food isnt good for you. if you want something high calories try peanut butter. its loaded with calories and is also good for you.

i dont eat them religiously. its just something i make and eat for dessert or whatever when i feel like it. i'll make like 2 recipes at a time and freeze all of them but about 10 small balls and take them out of the freezer as i need them, because they dont last. you dont need any protein if you're getting the correct amount, but im guessing you arent getting the correct amount. you want at least 1 gram per pound a day, no more than about 40 grams of protein at a time. i dont eat those protein balls just for the protein, they taste great too.

iroc409 06-04-2003 04:42 PM

some cool stuff here. i definitely want to get lifting again. i've decided this summer i'm getting back into shape. well, it'll probably take more than this summer to get where i ultimately want to be, but i've pushed myself into getting a lot better.

i'm probably not eating perfect. i should be eating more, i usually eat about 3x/day, sometimes some snacks in between. but, i am eating MUCH healthier than i have been.

although i am curious, how important is it to hit your target calorie/fat intake per day? i have no idea how many calories i'm eating, but fat wise i'm probably right now around 15g/day, roughly. and, is starchy stuff really that bad for you? i've been eating a lot of rice and pastas.

for excercise, i got out jogging/walking at least once a day, for a little over a mile. sometimes i go 2x/day, but i've only been doing this for a couple weeks, so i don't want to overdo it yet. but, i have started to see some good results already. and i'm more driven now when i started. it's also an excellent mind-clearer and stress reliever. it's amazing what it can do for the mind. sometimes lately i've been going bezerk, then i go out for a run and i come back considerably more calm and clear-headed than when i left.

i want to get back into the gym, but i think i'll wait until i get closer to my target wieght. i think it will be better to get my diet properly adjusted and lost the weight before putting it back on - wether it's muscle or not.
