America is in fact currently at war with North Korea. This is because we signed an armistice, not a formal peace treaty. We never declared war on Vietnam, but nearly three million US troops went to Vietnam and sixty thousand Americans died there. We sure do consider this a war. We invaded Grenada but we surely do not consider this war. We bombed Libya and also Syria, but no says the US was at war with Libya or Syria. I define a war as an invasion, long term occupation, and thousands of American casualties. A single bombing is not a war. |

just because you have no official troops :winkwink: on the ground..doesnt mean you are not actively engaging in behind the scene..would you consider cyber war for example as being in war? some could say the us is is in war since ww2 because behind the scenes it never stopped |

Funny how the definition shifts when you're not the one under fire. BTW, have you ever been under fire? |

It resulted in us invading Afghanistan, removing their government, and removing their government from power. Which is obviously a war. By your definition... We are at war with Iran. And Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Serbia, Bosnia, Sudan, Lebanon, Chad, and... Tunisia. |
Copy and paste this into Youtube: General Wesley Clark "We're going to take-out 7 countries in 5 years |

At this stage "war" is just a way for the military industrial complex to continue to make oodles of money. Notice how all these "wars" are against tiny shithole countries (Iran included) with no possible way of retaliating, fighting back or winning?
It's not like America is taking on France, or Germany, or Russia, or China, with boots on the ground and the potential for millions to die. These "wars" are exactly what the military industrial complex love best and what Americans will accept because it never affects them directly: endless low level conflicts in far off places that produces billions in profits while maintaining America's scary big dog presence around the world. This has been going on since the 1950's and President Eisenhower warned us against this but hey, whatever right? Party on!! |
