Ah Kayla, it's nothing unusual or new with this crowd, Aaron is entirely correct.

Vancouver was no exception and getting the 'delinquent' report every morning from the F&B director was a cross between amusing and horrific.

We, unfortunately, had people peeing in the lobby of the hotel, fire alarms being pulled, damage being done, a hotel that smelled entirely of smoke and more.

To think this is anything new is silly, it's been going on as long as we've had shows. I can remember one big company that got kicked out of the show hotel over a strawberry margarita machine gone wild... and many other incidents over the years.

Am I saying it's right? Fuck no. But as the event co-ordinator, you need to be prepared for these things since they will happen.

It's not limited to adult either, I've been to non-adult shows where the childish behaviour, altered states and damage to property were much worse.

When I was in Florida and saw that glass lobby top way down from my balcony, I KNEW that someone would end up throwing something out of it to see some shit break...Sure enough, it happened.

I like to get fucked up and if I go to Vegas, I'll be fucked up again. But if you are DESTRUCTIVE when you get fucked up, that's just something in your nature...It has less to do with the drugs and more to do with your own personality...

I am glad I am not a wild drunk. I just get happy and fun, then slur a little and my girlfriend takes me home before passing out.

Trashing anything or passing out in strange places is not my bag I am happy to say.

I've heard the same. Though it doesn't really matter how other industries behave.

I wouldn't have the patience for shit like that, if someone was causing problems I'd give them one warning, any more problems and they'd be staying at a different hotel for the night and would not be allowed back on the floor. Any intentional damaged property, they'd get the same treatment, without the warning.

I did. I ended up missing AdultCon the next day. I had invested a little over $500 in Kayla Cam promotional material and had planned on making a big splash there. I was going to be promoting my 2 films. *sigh* After being up all night, I knew there was no way I would be able to sign autographs and take pics with people all day. I was tired, grouchy and my eyes were puffy.

Now...how am I going to unload all of these 8X10's, trading cards and stickers and stuff?!

i'm usually quite good at pacing my drinking, but at the start of the night I went up to the bartender and gave her a $100 TIP and told her to drop everything any time I wanted a drink and make mine. She did that - in front of some high end people and it was awesome but - -

I only had 7-8 drinks all night. if they would have been singles I woul dhave been fine. later i found out they were trippes or stronger....

I have no idea why that is I haven't been around long enough to see it I guess. I admit my first few shows out I was shocked and super freaked out by some of the behaviour.

As Kimmy Kim said whether or not it is right or wrong stuff like that just happens.

I agree that it would be nice if we could have some classier events but I am not about to try and change what already is I am not a miracle worker. So I accept it and laugh at it cuz otherwise I would probably lose my mind at the shows. :winkwink:

There is only one realy way to stop this. Like Aarron said, just cease doing biz with these people. You know how it works from there. Someone will ask about them and you say "yeah their product or whatever is cool , but I do not choose to be associated with them becasue of their lack of professionalism." That is alot more damaging than any hotel repair bill etc.............
Make no mistake about it........I was in the Aerospace industry for a long time, I went to many conventions and seminars , there is always going to be someone fuckin up. PERIOD !! I have seen 50 year old men passed in hall ways and arguing with hookers. Some drunk some cold sober. Nature of a gathering.

I posted this about two messages after the first :)

....I am not saying no drinking, cocktail hour before dinner would be nice, or a couple of drinks at a show....but none of the retard drunkness. This also assures a normal bedtime as well, by the 2 or 3rd day of partying, I can't even make it to the show floor when I'm suppose to.

I was really shocked by TDF! I honestly thought he was mocking me at first, until we started really talking.

TDF, you are incredibly cool! I like the way you analyze things before forming an opinion.
