No way in hell you would catch me taking my children ANYWHERE where there were a bunch of adult webmasters, I don't care WHAT kind of restaurant it is. There is NO way I could possibly make them accountable for what they say in front of my children, and no matter WHAT anyone says, people are going to say things I do NOT want my children hearing, no matter if they are 5 or 15 or whatever. Exposing them to that is the picture of irresponsibility, in my opinion, however I guess that's entirely up to the parent. In a small, controlled environment of only a few close friends in the biz getting together and KNOWING that they need to watch their language and topics of discussion, fine. But in the general masses of webmasters (and in that I mean more than just VERY close associates), NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL.
I'm not trying to be a bitch, but how can one REALLY justify exposing their children to that? I just don't see how they can. |
Wow, 3 pages after I left and its still the same old same old.
People are going to do what they please, doesn't that come clear to anyone reading this? If you don't want them around don't have them around. Were I ever to do another Vancouver I would do it much differently. Much more like the spring trip a few of us went on. If it's not dope and pussy getting people in trouble, it's silly pranks that get taken too far, all in the heat of the moment. There has not been one show I can recall in many that hasn't had some sort of issue around it, whether it's someone pissing in a cup on a private party boat or someone pissing in the lobby of the hotel in Vancouver -- and NO, it wasn't a webmaster, it was some local chick picked up by some webmasters, so it is not limited to webmasters as far as the behaviour goes. I'll say this, the LA show seemed to have way less prevalent drug use, especially hard drug use -- I don't recall seeing or hearing of anyone doing that, tho I am sure it happened quietly -- than I've seen in awhile. That is one good thing. |
I think you are gonna see a lot more of that... Closed parties where a company travels to another town, throws a party only the people invited know about, and not announced on the boards until the pictures show up the next day.... And soon people will have to sign up to get into patries - and show ID at the door.

I have no knowledge of any of this nonsense that happened....I was already back from the Zanzibar party early in the nite....in someone else's room, before any of this started....
....I left all that crap back in COLLEGE 2 years ago. How old are you guys? It feels as if Teacher Kayla has had to scold us all for a few idiots' actions, and personally I feel threatened as to the existence of future webmaster shows like this, and hell, I'm not even IN porn! But hell, I'd miss all you guys, I grew up watching your content, and reading your publications, for the articles, and taking the free tours (until I had my own credit card), and now I get to hang out with all you guys and SELL YOU ON MY MAINSTREAM CROSS-MARKET PHARMACY AFFILIATE PROGRAM (50/50 REVSHARE, HIGHEST CONVERSIONS, and WEEKLY WIRE). I wish I could have been there to smack someone up the side of the head after fucking Kayla over; she's such a sweetheart. :2 cents: Anyone wanna help me out :helpme and get set up to market as an Affiliate for Mortgage Lead Gen or our Online Pharmacy program? I told my boss I did great business at this show....I ended up with solid good guys, but the rest of you I didn't get to talk to (I had my own fun for a couple nites), it'd be great to tell you about my program!! E-mail me: [email protected] Peace!! |

I keep having to remind myself of this all the time when I think of any aspect of our industry....
"If you can stand the fuckin heat, then get the fuck outta the kitchen" I judge no-one, and expect to be judged by no-one I am sure Aaron that you are as cool as, but if people ever decide to ban Bald fucks like you and me (just coz that dont like Bald webmasters), we are both fucked in the ass I prefer tolerance to bigotry in whatever situation |

Easy to agree with me, when I state the obvious. Too bad some people do not get it, will never get it. Personally, I hope to be out of the porn biz by the time I have a family. |
No Kayla, like I said, I really thought you were a sweetheart. And you REALLY helped out in a certain situation late at nite, in a drunken state of desperation (I hope that drunkenness was not a prob!) and I felt that, you being the Events Coord. that for the stupid people that fucked it up (if only my mom heard this language) you had to be the one to forsake your good time to deal with all of them.
Thanks for the help again, we all made it home safe and sound, you're a real sweety...P.S. I was staying with Angel, yet you never offered me to stay in the cam house with you, I would have LOVED it!! LOL --The Doctor is out again! |

A convention is a place to conduct business, and a party is a place to network and unwind. As long as a person's behavior is under control when they drink, it's not a bad thing. I for one, was able to conduct business with a few people while enjoying the open bars. I'll admit that I did overdrink on the first night, but as soon as I was starting to feel the effects kicking in, I quickly headed out of Zanzibar and went back to the hotel (and up to my room). I didn't make a fool out of myself, nor did I impose on anybody else.
There needs to be some restrictions when letting people in, or a definite blacklist for individuals who get out of line. I saw quite a few out of line, and I feel that anybody causing destruction or public humiliation for the business as a whole, has no right to attend any webmaster functions. I think we are all on the same page here. In what ways can this possibly be solved though, as long as convention badges can be purchased by anybody who comes across the signup page? |

How come the idiots who were busting glass and throwing plants and pulling alarms aren't posting about it here? Idiots like that usually exude a lot of arrogance about their stupidity... why not this time?
Things that make you go 'hmmmm'. |
heh
I remember when people partied and still conducted business professionally. A few drinks in an evening works as a nice icebreaker, but getting slammed isn't a nice impression Personally the last convention that I was at, was last year in vegas when I had fun and did excellent business. I haven't been to most of these conventions where all this action has taken place. In 2000/01 even the parties were still business themed. I was young, intimidated and nervous and still held my intergrity after a few drinks because I felt good to just be in the room with the industry leader. I was always more concerned with business than drinking my face off. Why would you wanna make an ass out of yourself at these places by getting all hammered and twisted. Your paycheck is at stake. If yer small party is going out and getting rowdy, take it somewhere else and far away from the convention and the planners. The adult biz does not need this stupidity associated with it at all. I mean publicity is one thing but while under the scrutiny of the media and goverment? I will be in vegas for the next show. I look forward to doing some old school biz with you guys and making some money. As for the children at adult business meetings/suppers. I have to agree with Aaron etc, that this is probably not the best idea for all partues involves. The adult conversation mixed with biz . alcohol and money is no place for people under 18. Aaron, we have definately had our difference in the past and I agree that misappropriate behavior does not belong. Accidental actions and miscommunication does happen and I do believe in giving people a second chance.. you? However public urination, fire alarms, vandalism and sexual assault have no place anywhere in the professional environment and these actions should have permament disciplinary action. Especially by the emmployers. Sorry guys, thought like writing and this is a good topic for discussion :thumbsup |

It was a lovely holiday party and many of your family was in attendance. Your children are adorable. No. I was not uncomfortable with them there. It was also a different kind of setting. Had I invited you to my house for dinner, your children would have been welcome. Also, it was YOUR party that YOU threw. Whom you invite is certainly your prerogative. If it were my party, I would opt for a 'no kid' attendance. When I go to Vegas, I resent kids being where I am. I go to Vegas to get away from children. I love my son and my nephews and they are over my house quite often. But, I've reached an age where I like being in places, filled with adults. Where I don't have to watch what I say. Nothing personal, Ian. Really. |
Cant wait to see what happens in Vegas

infact as I recall, I called you after I heard some rumors that was being said about pornkings from you. I called you and asked you straight up. I thought it was squashed till I saw you making post and bashing me on other threads for no reason at all. thats when i decided to defend myself on a public forum. The only reason I was upset to begin with was the way you walked out without giving any notice at all. and then went to work for another company. so don't talk to me about being an adult. Yes your right I was upset and called the other company to see what was going on since you just walked out without giving any reason at all. they thought you gave us notice. I wasn't upset about you leaving it was how it was done. As you can see I go straight to the source no reason for me to talk shit behind anyones back. I don't understand where you get off saying I have a big ego when you have never met me nor hung out with me. Infact I told you many times to come to LA so we could hang out etc when you worked for Pornkings. To this day I have never talked shit about anyone on the boards or behind someones back unless it was defending Pornkings or myself. If you new my history you would understand this. I just didn't understand why you would go out of your way to bash me on other threads for no reason at all. and if you heard something you could have called me like I called you. I'm over it. call me anytime and lets squash it or do lunch in vegas on your dime, I am not one to hold grudges. Happy Holidays |
My goodness. How everything changes when the shoe is on the other foot.
The list of utter hypocrites in this thread is hilarious. |
ive seen and heard worse shit go on at a shriners convention or for that matter any other type of CORP. convention.
if you didnt have these fuckups there wouldnt be anything to yenta about. but When people damage public property, thats unacceptable and definitly punishible. Standing naked mid-day pissing in a pool isnt but piss an elevator or hotel lobby definitly crosses the line though. these 3 happened at a shriners convention. :1orglaugh |
The problem here is professionalism. I have been at parties with people in this biz and 90% of us be totally gone. Occasionally someone would say something stupid or I would pour a glass of G. Goose on my dickies, but it was all good. The people I was partying were all professional adults, even when we cut loose. These guys that are going to far, are not professionals, they are faking it during the day and when they get drunk are dropping there masks. see them as the kids they are.
You have to keep in mind that "Perception is Reality" in this business, If you fuck up just one time around the wrong people, then your hurting. Have fun but always keep your mind on the goal at these parties, make friends, make money. I always liked to act a little more drunk than I was, People drop games and it softens them up when they think your toasted. |

What goes around comes around. |
I'm still trying to sift through this thread (no cliff notes it appears), but as I read I think more and more about three things..
First.. it sounds more like a group of unruly teens away from mom and dad for their first trip away from home with nothing more on their minds than "PARTY" instead of a group of business aquaintances looking to get together, learn from each other and network. Second..if these people are like this at a meeting of their piers how do they handle their day to day business and are they worse at home and only presented their 'best behavior"? Third... how many show up purely because all that is shown of past conventions is parties and nekkid women? |
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone
I see a lot of people with sin casting stones. True, there were some pranks that went a little overboard at this show, but I have seen FAR worse at other shows from people either posting here, people who work with people posting here, or people who watched and laughed. I agree, things got a little out of hand, but I heard rumors that I know were not true because I was with the people that were being talked about. As for the shit with Kayla being woken up and having to deal with the people in the lobby: Several cabs of webmasters had just arrived after partying on Sunset at the Rainbow. Many of these webmasters were sober. We had been outside for no more than 5 minutes when we were ordered inside. Many of us ended up in my room and not more than 15 minutes later security showed up and wanted to know who was causing the noise. There were maybe 15 webmasters in the room and barely any alcohol. There were no drunken idiots, just a lot of webmasters trying to talk to each other. Luckily we didn't get ejected because we used the "don't look in the bedroom because we have naked girls in there" line. After the rent-a-jerk with the inflated ego left most of the people left to other rooms and we didn't have a problem again (even though that troublemaker ArronM showed up! :winkwink: ). When all this happened it was barely 3AM on a Friday night. I guess all of us webmasters should have been in bed by then like good little pornographers should be. |

Who the hell do you think you are...AaronM? The next thing you know, you will be having threads deleted just to start more drama. Get your own style bro...This one is already taken. A copy is never as good as the original anyway. :Graucho |
Cliff Notes:
It sounds like someone bit off more than they could handle for the show... Someone did something to damage the hotel, and someone else got blamed for it. It also sounds like someone number one, is blowing this whole thing way out of proportion to get attention. Creative Spam? Maybe. Entertaining... Yes. Hypocrytical... Yes. And "Someone number one" is not the thread starter. I do agree that there should be a blacklist of some sort, but, be sure that the members of that list are not unjustly put on it. Make sure there is rock solid proof and wittnesses of the events that they are blacklisted for. Conclusion: We are all dirty pornographers, and rebels to begin with. Things happen at shows. It does not make them right, but it does not make YOU or I, the judge, jury and executioner when things do get out of hand. It is just part of the business. As Zebra said, "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.". Simple as that. For every one of you pointing a finger, I can name at least one time where you were out of hand, or have at minimum heard stories about it.... true or not. I take it all with a grain of salt. Some people are known as "trouble makers" and ALWAYS get blamed for things they don't do. Yet, those same people who get blamed, ALWAYS admit when they DO do things. Others never get blamed for things they do. So, what does this tell us? It says a few things that we should all think about. No matter what you think you know... Unless you were there and wittnessed it with your own eyes... Shut the fuck up, because you know shit. This includes everyone, from newbie to legend. Unless it's a planned business strategy... mind your own business, and make new business. We are all in this together, and need to pull together as an industry, instead of canabalizing our own. Keep the peace people. :2 cents: |
