Erm... not showing respect to the people who submit quality galleries to you on a daily basis, is pretty much an asshole thing to do.
I seriously doubt that you guys would be at 380k+ daily, without the help of their content. That is, unless ofcourse, all you post is your own galleries, which you hand create, in order to bring your surfers back and make your site a little bit less like a CJ. As far as being a newbie, I've only been in this game for 8months... and I do decently off TGPs, but what do I do for 90% of my time while online? I browse the msgboards, and help those who need help with TGPs... Im living comfortably off my primary job, this is just cash to pay off my car. Congrats on being one of the "l33t" that made this game, what it is... But you won't get respect for doing that, by calling people who don't do as well as you, or the ones that consistently post quality CONTENT for YOU to make money, NEWBIES or NOBODIES. I'm a nobody, and I'm a newbie... but, I'm sure I'll have just as much fun in vegas, hanging with other newbies, people I've helped, people who have helped me, or atleast people who "helped create" the game, and respect those "newbies" who actually help contribute to THEIR income. My rant is over... bleah. :/ |

You do make a lot of good points in your 'ranting' message, but I do not run a TGP, I do actually pretty much what you imply I don't do. I make and post only my own galleries. I don't post other people's galleries on my site. This isn't an open even because myself and a couple of unnamed other sponsers are paying a HUGE portion of the costs to this event. I don't take submissions, so gallery submitters aren't really revelant to me. You are, of course, VERY IMPORTAT to most of the guests attending this event though as they run TGPs and depend on your hard work and devotion. Another reason I and a coulple of other people started this event is that we were sick and tired of the 400 person shoulder to shoulder parties. Yes, most of the guests will still attend many of those parties at Vegas, (including me) but this is just a 'break' so that we can step back and get a breath of fresh air. This is a different kind of event, and you are more than welcome to create your own event specific to your market niche. The restricted nature of the guest list is basically a reflection of who I want there because I feel that those people will benefit me. Call me selfish but that's life I guess and it's my quarter. Newbies don't stay newbies forever. All large sites were once newbies. I started by submitting galleries and now this is a full time job for me with a great income. I have met a LOT of great people in this business who are fair and honest and fantistic to work with. It's a sad statement but I sold life insurance and mutual funds for 7 years before doing this and I can say that I was sick of all the crooks and shady deal in that business. Believe it or not but the people who I have worked with in the online free TGP porn industry are way nicer, honester, and just generally better people all around in my experience. It's not easy, as you know, and it's a lot of work but I consider it a labour of love and this event is my way of giving just a little back to the people who have helped me become what I am today. (which is a bum who sits at home all day and taps keys while looking at all his neighbors grumble and drive off to work.) |
I'm a newbie, so all I can say is I hope I get the chance to make it to the convention and meet you guys. Sounds like a ton of fun! Wish I could really tell my boss where I was going, would just love to see the look on his face. One day...
