P.S. WHY did the "park ranger" sneak the medical supplies to the girl? Maybe I missed something there..but I thought he would take her in and say something to the effect of "We've got a nutcase here!"

I am assuming that he effectively trusted that her "madness" was actually driven by something more tangible and some sort of strange scenario.

He seemed to believe she needed to independently take care of her dilemna.

And that was probably the problem with 99% of the people that went to watch that movie..

A lot of people I know told me the movie sucked, but I really liked it because I rate the movie on the storyline and entertainment value, and not on my expectations beforehand..

I am looking forward to seeeing it! :D

I watched it last night and it was OK. 3.5 out of 5 stars, but certainly not a thriller.

I suspect the guard knew exactly who she was and what she was from. The property both inside and outside the wall was owned by her father and from what I could tell, the people who decided to live in the village told others that they were leaving and where they were going.

There were some contrived parts and it could have been better because it was a good concept, but all it all, a solid 3.5

The father owned the property inside and outside the wall? Hmm..was wondering how they were never discovered in there if the rangers were comming in and treating sick animals.

I thought it strange that the guy reading the newspaper (who's face we never saw) talked about "government guys comming here and setting it up so planes would not fly over the reserve." Now that was just a TAD unbelieveable.

M. Night Shyamalan, the writer and director was the man behind the paper. He's in all his movies, ala Hitchcock :)

Irrum 01-31-2005 01:55 PM

Most of M. Night Shyamalan movies, you either hate them or love them. I can see why some people don't like his movies though, too slow and quiet.

For me I like them, I like movies that make you think about life and whatever message he conveys in his film. Besides the obvious of the sixth sense being good, I thought unbreakable and signs were really good. I like unbreakable the best out of all of them (thats cause I like comic books).

But I'm not a big fan of the Village, it is okay. Out of all his movies I liked it the least.
