I'm sure you are a good grappler, win some tournaments, enter some ring and cage fights, then think about fighting Kimbo.

Btw, if size and weight doesn't mean anything, can you explain to me why PRIDE FC and UFC have it? LOL

was it done by weight when the good fighters were fighting? when gracie was winning.. shamrock, abbot,

Spunky 04-17-2005 10:39 PM

What I seen Kimbo could pummel your face in for 50 k and get your program as well..you aren't serious and this is basically bullshit

I never said he could not pummel my face.. if you look at my post I give him total dominance in the stand up world... in fact one punch from him to me right now witht he lack of getting hit the past year on my part I would prolly be in a coma if not dead.. but the goal is to not get hit.. specally from a hard hitter like him... I have met the guy his hands are like balls and chains... just wicked.. but I doubt his ground fighting skills and I am confident in mine... I would never box him only.. not for 10 million dollars

The UFC had no credibility back then, it wasn't long before nobody anywhere would sanction it. They had to change a bunch of stuff, including adding weight classes, before UFC became a credible foundation. :2 cents:

now it's no good.. if you ask me it was so much better then IMO....

Pipecrew 04-17-2005 10:48 PM

I think you'd probably have to sign something saying that if he killed you with a punch, that he isnt liable, I'am sure he'd be worried..

jonesy 04-17-2005 10:49 PM

so danza how do you propose to go about the fight?

there is no way any state would sanction this type of fight

You seriously think so?

Back when the Gracies ran the whole thing, and you had to win 3 times for a $10000 purse? When you could lay on the ground, not advancing your position at all for an entire fight? I've watched UFC since the very first one, and I happen to think it's a better *sport* now.

Again, I'm not saying size and weight is the only the, or the most important thing, I'm just saying it's one of the variables.

Spunky 04-17-2005 10:51 PM

Fighting doesn't prove shit..save your money and retract your statements.Back out .I'm sure Kimbo would suck this up like a hounds stew

in my opnion it was... back when it was a bracket style... 3 opponionts.. thats the real ultimate fighter I think... know what I mean.. as far as laying on your back right away.. thats my plan with this one... never let him get me in his kill zone which is arms length away... I am either hugging him till we both go down or I am down first and I will get him down there with me eveuntauly...

let me quote jonsey on a gracie quote

Royce Gracie Undefeated Ultimate Fighting Champion

"you don't have to be a monster to be the champ. You don't have to be the biggest guy or the one who hits the hardest. And you don't have to get hurt in a fight."

Royce Gracie's opponents consistently outweighed him by more than 50 pounds like dan severen, Kimo Leopoldo by 80 lbs and many others -

Royce Gracie lost 2 fights in other competitions

Gracie lost for the first time in a grappling-only match with another Brazilian-jujutsu expert, Wallid Ismail, by a "clock choke." at the Rio Oscars of Jiu-Jitsu at Copacobana Beach on December 17, 1998

Gracie conceded a match against the renowned champion Kazushi Sakuraba Gracie could no longer stand and suffered a broken femur at the Pride Grand Prix 2000 - Finals

He did not lose against any huge guys but against skilled martial artists, proving that brute force and size wins fights

Gracie gave hope to thousands of martial artists who, like him, may not be the biggest or the strongest in their dojo, but who depend on perfect technique to overcome their opponents in competition.

like I said I have nothing aginst kimbo really cool guy I have met him a few times... just always alot of talk on here (gfy) abot how he's the baddest.. he is bad trust me.. I would not want to have to stand up with him in a ring on an alley... but a skilled person can take a street fighter anyday.. unless.. and it's a really unless they get that one punch in and go in for the kill and someone who knows how to have good offence will know defence as well... there are points where punches and kicks are the strongest where they sting the most... hence the "reach" factor if you stay inside that chances are you will never get that knock out punch from someone.. I have watched him fight.. he hits really really hard

Let's see.

Royce Gracie has been training before he could walk.

You have never even trained in Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

Royce Gracie has fought numerous competitions and is a game fighter.

We just have your claims that you can fight.

Now, I know Royce Gracie. You Sir, are no Royce Gracie.

So it's trained for years now at a Gracie Dojo? Oh wait a minute, the rest of us Gracie/Brazillian Jiu Jitsu guys call them Academies. Get your nomenclature down right if you are going to lie, eh?

Where again did you get your 3rd degree BB in BJJ? Or is it going to be something else now?

True you never said your were Royce. Just alluding to the fact that because Royce did it, you can.

Get off of Royce's Nuts already. Do somehting on your own, and stop riding that man's jock.

What tournaments have you won? How about ring or cage fights?

What makes you think you can fight at Kimbo's level?

Gecko,

There's an old BJJ saying. If skillset is the same, for every 20lbs, go up one belt level.

hells yeah agreed.... to many people go a few matches and give out... I like to roll around till I can't move anymore.. only way we all getbetter... and no matter what skill someone is you always learn something from them... weather it be how to counter a certian attack.. or something that they do out of instinct that you can do at another time.... I am not saying I got a chip on my shoulder.. say I did not say this thread including me... say it was someone like a 13 year old gracie.. my point of the whole thread was that a trained person will beat a street fighter any day.. and you already know that cause you train.... that was my original point and to prove it I deicided to offer myself up aginst him.. and I will throw 50k if his side matches it....

hells yeah fact I will prolly wanna roll around for a few weeks before the match if we can get it aproved... also you know any strikers like him for me to roll with...

I really don't usually read the whole thread of many of any posts at GFY as they are usually gibberish - This however is a good thread that has some great arguments about a topic I LOVE.

MMA is an amazing sport, up until a year ago I watched every UFC/PRIDE for 3 years consistently and rented the older ones I hadn't seen. Unfortunately I haven't watched the last year... This and it being brough up a few weeks ago has more than renewed my interest - I was curious about the Liddel/Corture fight... And to be honest not suprised Chuck won, more than anything because Corture is just getting old. How long can someone like him fight at that level without age becoming a factor?

I think the sport has evolved so dramatically in the last 5-6 years compared to how it used to be that boxing will be a god damn joke by the time all of our kids are adults and will be looked at as we view wrestling right now. Maybe not QUITE that low, but it will be viewed as less of a gauge of a fighter's ability and a world class boxer (Heavy-Weight) against a Light Heavyweight UFC champ would still be something where the odds would be skewed heavily towards the UFC champ.

That said, the one thing that bothers me about the UFC as of late... and I haven't followed it much is I felt Tito
A) Threw that match against Corture
B) Got so over-cocky that he lost under-estimating Corture
C) Had such a street brawler fashion to him the lack of MMA started to show

Opinions?

Oh, and why allude over and over and over to the 3rd degree BB questions. Simply say you mis-stated it and let it go. I am curious as to why you continue to avoid the subject like a plague and don't take you seriously nor will I until you answer it.

Oh, and you can all kick my ass - hahahahahahaah .... :pimp

It's obvious Danza has delusions of granduer. He believes if he keeps talking enough about what he can do, people might actually believe him.

Let's step away from the discussion of who would win in a fight between a trained fighter and a street fighter. This is what DD wants to take away from people asking about his credentials.

Each time he was asked to back up his claim of being a third degree black belt, he ignored the request. This is very telling to me. Later in this thread, he called the Gracie Academies "Dojos" which was also very telling.

It's easy to just keep on saying "I'll put 50k on it!" when you know deep in your heart the fight will never materialize. Now, Danza, please provide the name of the person who certified you in your third degree black belt or please shut the fuck up.

as far as the BB questions.. I personlaly just feel that it's really no ones buisness to gloat about it where I got it what my name is.. ect ect... my name is on that list thats posted earlier... I am one of those that feels that I will prove my skills on the mat.. and thats it... those who kow me know I am not full of shit.. if they don;t know me then it really does not bother me weather they belive me or not know what I mean... like your saying a lightweaght MMA fighter can prolly take a heaverweight boxer any day of the week.. I personally feel that all the new UFC's are a joke... ever since tito got involved into it it seems to have went downhill IMO.. but thats just me.. there are cats training each day that will take any UFC fighter.. as far as the coture thing I feel the same way as you do.. liddel is no spring chicken but couture just looks aged know what I mean.. if it went to the ground randy could have stood a better chance.. but he stood wanted to box a striker.. bad move on his part if you ask me

why all the concern abut who and where? if you wanna roll with me we will roll around have a good time and go pimp whores afterwords.... who what and where is not the talk in this thread... would not matter if I got trained by tyrone on a street corner who was trained by a guy named james from another street corner..... like I said if you don't belive me then don't.... my name was on the list that someone showed earlier I am not ever going to give my real name ON gfy.. 98% of people don't even know my real name and I tend to keep it that way I have a family and I piss on girls for a living.. may not be to safe to give my real name... like I said above I will let the mat do the talking.. no more no less and leave it at that...

Of course you don't want to do that. Then your elaborate ruse will be found out and you won't be able to continue this fantasy discussion about fighting Kimbo.
