Dude almost our entier country is below sealevel. I made the comment, because I saw one of my professors from the Technical University of Delft (yes I'm a student there) explaining how dykes should be made and how dykes are made in the US in front of some US committee that was doing research to everything that was and went wrong during those hurricanes.

It turns out A LOT was wrong with your dykes and a lot of what happened could have been avoided. May be it's time for you Americans to let go the 'we are better than the rest of the world'-attitude and actually focus on the things that are wrong in your own country and do something about it.

yea man, your professor is absolutely right. Us Americans are fucking stupid when it comes to building shit that lasts. thats why americans buy up imported cars because american ones dont last for shit.

I'm not saying they can't make things that last, I'm saying that things that happened in New Orleans can be prevented, no matter what kind of hurrican comes over. Americans know hurricans hit their country every year, why don't they do something about it?

It's not that I'm anti-US or anything, I mean 80% of my income comes from the US. I just hate people with the 'we are the best and nobody can do us anything'-attitude.

the only reason the US can push other countries around is because the US is the #1 industrial nation, we have a huge military, and the US has enough wealth and resources to do just about whatever they want.
