Rick Springfield in 82 @ 12 yrs old,LOL!
Then he came to a local club I worked at in 99, I saved my concert ticket from 82 and had him sign it 99. He was "it" back in the day, then he went thru some bad times. He freaked out seeing a concert ticket that old, almost brought a tear to his eye. My second concert was Dio, in Vegas @ 14 yrs old. I have been to alot of concerts, funny when Kansas tried to keep Motley Crue out, grrrr! It didn't work! |
First Concert
The Kinks, with Bryan Adams opening.
Kinks were awesome! Bryan Adams was a complete dick -- he was getting booed so he threatened not to do his "big song", "Lonely Nights". The crowd booed louder -- what did he expect? (The second show was Billy Squier opening for Queen -- amazing show!!!!) |

OKAY...but that's not the punch line...even though I always thought it was... Later on in life, I worked in the music business for MCA records...and we had lots of info on bands that had toured, etc in the past...and it turns out that the year that they took me to see Herman's Hermits...THE WHO opened for Herman's Hermits...so...the FIRST band I ever saw in concert tured out to be the WHO! :P Fitz |

First BIG show was David Lee Roth with Tesla opening up at Nassau Coliseum I guess in 86 or 87?? It was Tesla's first show other than a few small clubs. They were great! Dave's music was not that great but Steve Vai was in the band then and he is just out of this world and made it worth it. He did this guitar solo that no human being should be able to play and then he would just start rolling around, tumbling, flinging guitar and never missing a note. I tell you he must be an alien to be able to play like that! :)
