It's aweome to hear that your son can be treated in Canada... it's so much stress to move them around, not to mention the cost. Not that him being in the hospital here will be cheap, you know there are incidental costs like parking, food and all those other things that add up when someone is in the hospital.

It should be something that's covered by health care now though correct? Best wishes on the road to your son's recovery. I can't imagine how I would feel it if was one of my kids.

They say what goes around comes around, Franck.. that includes the karma and vibes you send out. I understand that now NoCarrier's family does not have to pay a ridiculous amount to go to the US for surgery, but I doubt the donations they got were anywhere near what they needed for it regardless. You also have to consider though that there will be other costs involved, not EVERYTHING in Canada is free, and chances are NoCarrier and his wife will have to take time off work etc to be there for their son. Just because they aren't travelling for it doesn't mean a little bit of help in the monetary direction won't be needed or appreciated.

As for you Franck, it would be refreshing if for one fucking minute you removed your head from your ass and thought of someone other than your pathetic whining self. What the hell does it matter to you anyways? And it's not like I'm defending NoCarrier, I kind of thing the guy has acted like a tool more than once on this board, but this is a child we're talking about here, not your constant and insistant need for attention. What im trying to say is maybe he should sort out first whats gonna happen and what its gonna cost (if hes insured in Canada wont medical treatment be free?). First the bills and see how he manage it on his own and maybe THEN start a donation thread.

Thanks for the kind words. I do not read the negative posts. That's why I put Franck and jimthefiend on ignore. The incredible amount of positivity received the past 3 days is enough to give us strength and hope.

We do not live in Montreal anymore, we live in the Mauricie region near Shawinigan. It's almost a 2 hour drive everytime we have to go back to Montreal. And we are leaving this afternoon for more tests..

About the donations. People were extremely generous and we really appreciate it. And yes, it's going to be very useful for the next couple of months and yes we are going to need it as our financial status will be low. The generosity on this board is amazing.

Pretty sure he's posted since with a different nick. He posted every day here for three years, then after he received donations he stopped abruptly. Would have been nice for him to at least update everyone on his son's condition after all the help he received from gfy.

so either his son was really sick and he dedicated his time to help him and to work extra offline jobs as he said, or he just scammed "us" for $20k (or whatever the amount was), laughed about it and moved on to other things...

but yeah, obviously he can be still here under whatever nick now, I just don't think he is..

what is funny, is how Batts was the one who made the donation threads for NoCarrier, and then got upset about NoCarrier's dissapearing, and started a thread calling him a scammer :upsidedow

Most people here have the tendency to exaggerate their earnings, it's quite possible that New Carrer was just barely making a living in adult, or treating it as beer money.

He was a known member of the community, his son got cancer, the world changed for him (as it would for evryone), he collected the donations, made 1-2 threads with update about his son, and then just started working extra jobs offline and abandoned whatever he had going on in this biz, including GFY. I wouldnt be hanging out here anymore either, in such situation...

I'm well aware that people can just stop posting, just seemed highly coincidental of the timing as he was getting some heat from a few in here. I don't think he scammed, I do think he jumped the gun coming to gfy immediately upon hearing of his son's condition. He admittedly didn't even go to his family, friends or community before gfy. I think he was overwhelmed at the response and never expected to receive that much from gfy and then learned that insurance was going to cover a significant portion. Seems somewhat ironic that Batts led the charge to get donations coming in to help with his financial situation, and now Batts is broke.
