Don't forget that we haven't been around that long. We have just came a long way in a short time.

I don't know if you have a pet, but most people consider pets family. The bond people form with animals is stronger than you may think, so to those people, animals are just as important if not more important than some stranger who lives 10K miles away.

Would you rather help your starving brother or a starving man in Africa? Same goes for people and animals. In some sense they are placed on the same level as one another. I'd rather help my starving pet than the starving man in Africa.

This is getting off topic. Im hungry. Adios.

yeh I am sorry I got bit out of hand. your opinion is your opinion. and thats cool. likewise bangaboo cash etc.

Everytime I go to Safeway and pay with cash I donate ALL the change (even toonies and loonies) to whatever charity box they have at the till. Usualy it's for cancer or for kids. Donations probably goes as high 25$ a week.

You need to learn more about this organization. It is really an ultra right wing church:

Do you know how many of their ministers have been accused of molestation? Do you know how many legal defenses they have paid for accused child molesters?

Nobody knows..

I don't donate to a lot of charities/organizations, only one I do regularly (yearly) is RAINN.

tony286 11-26-2006 05:21 PM

We pick a one each year to give money too

i donate part of my money to charity yes

but im sorry that i see humans more important than animals

yes i may be brain-washed for actully thinking that a human needs help more than an animal.

but hey, thats just me :)

Thatīs fine, but there is no need for the comparison. It doesnīt help someone in africa letting an animal suffer elsewhere.

And my experiences have been that most people using this argument wonīt help anyway and just use it as an excuse not to help. Iīm working for different charity organisations in my sparetime and have heard it the way you said it here as well as the other way round.

I've read too many horror stories about aid to Africa being taken by the corrupt governments. Even large charities get their shipments looted and it never reaches the people who need it.

http://www.give.org is a good place to see what percentage charities spend on actual recipients and administrative fees.
