Of course I put in my opposition, and voted no in the poll as well.

this board is as it is, you can't expect everyone to write an essay because someone from ICANN may read this thread

this thread does prove though - again - that the majority of adult webmasters is opposed towards .xxx

I remember a similar poll about .xxx one month ago, and the results were quite similar - about 90% opposed to .xxx

Now, in recent documents sent to ICANN, ICM claims that only 20% webmasters are opposed towards .xxx.

I hope ICANN can see throguh their lies and false claims....

And now a question to Mr Lawley, he won't reply, although he browses GFY...

If the recent Xbiz seminar wasn't representative for the adult industry... and if GFY - the biggest webmaster discussion board, isn't representaive either, then... what place/forum/trade show/institution/organisation would be repreentative for the adult industry?

Ah well.... the situation is as clear as it is.... the overhelming majority of adult webmasters are strongly opposed towards the proposed .xxx tld.

Not only we don't see any advantages in the proposal, we see a huge threat in it, for our businessses, for freedom of spech etc.

I could go on... but I said all these things a good few times already.

Degenerate 03-15-2007 09:06 AM

I really don't want it approved, but I had to vote that way 'cause I was feeling sorry for all the morons....

I am chauncy 03-15-2007 09:10 AM

I don't want it not just for what it will do to the adult business but the future repercussions

Funny how he has no posts, but decides to vote Yes in our poll...

To everyone else, thank you very much for partisipating in this poll... It clearly shows with no room for error that the majority of our community does not want this sTDL approved

Gaybucks 03-15-2007 12:45 PM

Those of you who posted "I don't care" or "Yes" as a joke,

This is NOT A JOKE. We've already seen what Lawley does to spin anything he can twist to look remotely positive. I could see him trying to argue that 10% of the sponsored community supporting .xxx or being apathetic means there is enough interest that the domain should go forward.

I can't believe how unbelievably selfish or thoughtless it is to intentionally place a vote that doesn't honestly represent your feelings when so many people are working so hard to convey to ICANN what the community as a whole thinks. This is one of the few important threads on GFY, so please don't fuck it up.

Is it really worth the laughs you get to undermine what people are trying to do to defeat this?

Now... if you honestly believe that .xxx is beneficial and want it, then feel free to vote "yes." If you don't care or are undecided, READ ABOUT THE ISSUE before you vote. You won't be undecided once you understand how bad this could be for the industry.

Hi Bob, :error

When I voted in this pole there was only 1 yes vote and 1 no vote.

After looking deeper into the various implications of the dot xxx extension I would surely change my vote to NO!:321GFY

Scarlett :)

You voted yes because of two other votes? You truly are an idiot, and I believe the only reason you are changing your position is because you now realize that you have slit your own throat.

Thruth is he had no real clue about what .xxx would do to our biz, he just thought it was gonna be another extention that would be no big deal like .mobi, I explained to him deeply what it is all about and now he does understand and does not want this sTDL approved..

Look at his post count, he can hardly be considered someone "in the know"

In all honesty I do not think making it look as though Yes and I don't care voters will be retaliated against in this thread is smart as I have said over and over..

We do not want ICM to be able to say the supported did not vote out of fear...

I do know that most of them are young webmasters, sig whores or people that are not in the know about this issue... I have spoken to John from ScarlettContent about this and he now understands and no longer is a yes voter, which he publicly stated in this thread! I have also spoken with Cyber-Hu$tler and he did not understand how serious this is and has withdrew his "does not care" postion in this thread...

I believe englishpatient is someone from ICM as they have no post and registered her in January...

The rest I have no clue why they have tooken there position!

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-19-2007 01:12 AM

bump for more votes...

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-19-2007 08:19 AM

And I think a few more votes will make our point a little stronger :2 cents:

With all due respect, join dates and post counts mean jack all.

Voting just to vote, whether you understand or not, is not a good policy.

You are correct... But I think that the votes have been honest for the most part.. The few people I have talked to after there vote are just more edicated and now have changed there position...

Either way it is a landslide, a solid 90% do not want this sTLD to be approved and that is what really matters and I hope icann realizes that no matter what kind of spin ICM puts on things these numbers are true and honest and can't be spun :2 cents:

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 03-25-2007 12:09 PM

I see 10 votes pro-.xxx already, one of them seems to be "jan clork", obviously a fake nickname to make fun of you for some reason.

The maturity of this board is truly amazing :Oh crap

anyway, this poll probably served its purpose already... :)

Persignup Qon 03-25-2007 01:35 PM

the 10 votes for "yes" are probably by the same person logging in from different IPs :1orglaugh

I see that now...

No post by that person... How stupid and childish can they be?

Could it be someone from ICM?

I wonder...!

ANyway, I think it did serve its purpose and proove the point... We will find out in a few days :)

This is true but polls such as this are not half bad tools for gauging public sentiment nonetheless.

More importantly, some of those who elected to abstain have perhaps been forced to reveal more than they would wish :winkwink:
