I'd kiss up to thehun if it was possible, but unfortunatly it ISN'T. Thehun puts his surfers before gallery submitters and advertisers. He always has and always will. I admire him for that too (even though I may not agree with it totally)

There are ONLY two ways to get listed on his site- get lucky with a good gallery or pay him, and even if you pay him it still has to be a good gallery.

Now Sleazy is right, and laws vary around the world, but this ones pretty universal I think.. For fraud there usually has to be monetary damage. Can you prove monetary damage from what this guy is doing? Breaking your rules doesn't count as fraud. If by breaking your rules he cost you $X amount of dollars, and you can prove it, then you're looking at some good fraud.

However, just because you can't punish him legally with a fraud charge, doesn't mean you take the law into your own hands.

Anyway, I'm done.. No use arguing anymore once both sides have made their points. But you really should take my warning seriously - do this to the wrong person and you could be in a world of hurt.. And I'm not talking img src retaliation, I'm talking legal. You ARE vulnerable. Just like the cheaters, you might think you are not, but you certainly are.

Then he should build his own galleries and list them, list his friends galleries and not send his surfers to strangers' sites and/or galleries.

Once you put a link up to someone, and a surfer clicks that link and goes to that someone's site, they are no longer YOUR surfer.

You can choose not to leave the link up, you can choose to blacklist that person and not link to them anymore, but you can't go img srcing people.

Oh, I know that Backov... and I realise the risks. That's why I try finding out who's behind it first. This case the trace went dead in Russia... I put my attorney on it to see if he could find out anything, but he ran into the same border... I am prepared for concequences, I am prepared to strike hard though. As soon as a guy like this would file a complaint we would know who he'd be and let the whole thing backfire at him. All his actions are on record, e-mails to him and his sponsors are saved... Trust me, this is a well considered operation...

Why not let a bot check your site every X minutes. And when a cheater is found it will be deleted.

I know you told me you do, but that guy is kind of smart, and say first 20 ip's will see the nice gallery.

But why not let the bot use different proxy ip's every check...? and update that proxy list every week/month whatever?

I'd think that you're going to have to go with the paid submitter accounts, Hun. You seriously can't enjoy spending this much of your valuable time chasing down cheaters, and then taking this kind of shit for trying to stop them. You're not being shoplifted from. No one's stealing anything from you. Some stranger is sending you a gallery with a request to link it, and you're linking it not knowing anything about the person.

Close submissions, make people pay to submit, make a preferred submitters list. You have plenty of options.

Every TGP owner in the world deals with this on a daily basis, but they don't commit illegal acts to get revenge.

I do not like to do this, but I am agreeing

I'm starting to repeat myself: this is not a small kid stealing his first candy... this person is repeatidly cheating, hiding behind different servers, names, e-mail addresses, gallery layouts, you name it. I delete at least 50 people a day for adding consoles right after they submitted (if the bot didn't catch 'em) and the bot scans all links listed for cheaters who are simply written, removed and blacklisted like I said on the first post. Does the US bomb every country they have a disagreement with? No, luckily not. They use that as a last resort. If I'd hotlink every cheater I encounter in a day I would linking more cheaters than regular galleries. It's not as simple as you think.

You're right, you don't go hotlinking people that cheat on you, but people that repeatedly do this that obviously put a lot of effort in breaking the rules I set for MY OWN page HE is submitting to need to be tought a lesson...

I'm being hurt by this cheater. Every person leaving my page and not coming back is less impressions on my banners and eventually less clicks. People caught in dialers are people that are not willing to click ads anymore. And I want to do everything to keep people's trust. Not only for my site, but also to ensure the people advertising on my page for making a decent dollar. If I'd let cheaters get away with this I'd put that at stake. So yes, I am lifter here...
