you are too young for that. Thats not a panic attack sounds like you had a minor heart attack. I would get to the doctor sooner and not fuck around with this.if you still dont feel right tonight dont wait go back to the emergency room. Major heart attacks for young guys are like 98 percent fatal.

i think I know why now, it's Monday. never fails

NaughtyRob 11-17-2008 08:00 PM

Sucks man, hope you are ok. I have been worried about myself too, I need to excersise more.

shermo 11-17-2008 08:01 PM

Feel better man...Heart probs are nothing to mess with.

d-null 11-17-2008 08:03 PM

glad to hear you are ok

I think about the heart often because I've seen friends that didn't even know they had a problem until they faint one day and get rushed to emergency... young people take invincibility for granted but it is actually amazing that any of us live with the fragility of all the processes in a body that keep it alive :2 cents:

If it was a heart attack, it would have easily been spotted in blood tests.

AcidMax 11-17-2008 08:28 PM

I had episodes like this in the past. At one point it was panic attacks, the next couple times it was a heart valve issue they diagnosed. I am now on meds for it, but its possible you could have mitral valve prolapse too, which they found during a stress test for me. Some call it a murmur but it can have similar symptoms when stressed. Treatable with meds.

bloggingseo 11-17-2008 08:32 PM

Drink more water. At least eat some veggies or fruits even if you're not that hungry in the day man. It will make you feel better. Take a nap even if just for an hour or two during the day. Take care of yourself!

tony286 11-17-2008 08:35 PM

did they do a blood test on you?

Yes just said inital results looked ok. I still can't get feeling better. Heart keeps doing drum solos. Panic attacks almost for sure, but the one earlier heart. These ones don't hurt too much but get bit nauseous and panic a bit.

Seriously, take it easy and relax! Life is too short to stress over every detail. Speaking of details, take care of the small things and the big problems will work themselves out.

Very tempting man. Would be nice to hang out with you more than we got to in Costa. Panama is on my list to visit. Who all is down there? I know you and Z and a few others are.

Im about to go grab a case of gatorade btw. Only had soda in the house. oh and a big ass bottle of real asprin. Bayer I guess.

Whats the concensous on smokeable medication and the heart anyways? I've cut back to just a few hits before bed, but for some reason Its making me slightly paranoid for the first time. Guess its just magnifying things and not good things right now.

Agent 488 11-17-2008 09:06 PM

keep safe - and i agree - there are certain strains out there that are paranoia and anxiety inducing like i never saw before .........

I would advise against smokeable meds. That stuff has the tendency to make anxiety worse for whatever reason. See if you can bum some Xanax off a friend.

I want to go tonight and ask them for something, but Ill see if I can get something in the morning. I think if I can get calmed down smoking might be ok. It normally just puts me to sleep. I didn't mention I've only been getting 3-4 hours sleep the last week or so. Probably not helping. Don't want bottled sleep pills though in the house when I am feeling all shity and panicky. Ok off to store. Maybe gatorade will help some.

Mutt 11-17-2008 09:14 PM

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh - weed - weed most definitely is not good if you have any predisposition to anxiety/panic attacks. been there done that.

The good news is that your heart is probably fine. You're young and the body is resilient. The bad news is that this was your body's way of warning you.

By reading your posts, your diet alone is real unhealthy. It's putting a lot of stress on your body and heart. Drink Gatorade (will help with the electrolyte problem) and drink some Ensure if you can't handle food. I'd even recommend popping some fish oil for your heart too a few times a day. Slow down your daily routine and take a real vacation. Get away from the computer for a few days, it can do wonders.

I'd also ask your doctor about medicine for dealing with your anxiety (which it seems is your primary problem). Xanax is a wonder drug and a lot of guys here take it. Just be careful not to get too addicted to it, just use it when you need a mental break.

Your symptoms scream out anxiety and panic disorder. It happens to the best of us. Can be real scary but try not to let that burden you. Just take a step back from life for a little bit and relax. Making money doesn't mean shit if you aren't alive to spend it. Best of luck in your upcoming doctor visits.

Hope all works out.

Sorry to hear about your situation sticky. I know you'll be fine.

So anyways Just got back, cut watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, and grapes. A case of gaterade, ensure strawberry, and a bottle of bayer asprin. Hope that helps some.

yeah, that's gonna do alot for a heart problem or anxiety for that matter.. lol.

Eat xanex, get a better doctor and insist on going in for tests tomorrow, if the first one won't take you make you symptoms worse for the next.

my dad got booted out of emergency rooms for decades saying it was just panic attacks and it turns out they were most likely all minor heart attacks which they didn't figure out till he had a huge one, and now he's got a pacemaker defib unit in his chest, was in the hospital for almost a year and given days to live cause he only has 25% of his heart left working.

Echocardiogram motherfucker!

Do not smoke weed if you are having anxiety/panic attacks. It will make them worse. It also helps to cut back on caffeine. The key to panic attacks is not to focus on the symptoms. I know that is hard, but the more you think about them the more you will feed into it. Try and get some Xanax, Klonopin, or Ativan from the doctor to help you when you feel stressed. I hope that you feel better soon.

There's a few more down here. wouldn't feel comfortable naming names without asking first.. you know how it is.

Smokeable won't heart your heart, at least not that much.. if your problem is purely stress, I'd recommend it.. HOWEVER.. if you're having anxiety and panic attacks, don't smoke, don't drink, don't do crap but start getting good sleep and get away from stress. Yeah - if you actually have heart problems the aspirin is a good idea. But - a theraputic dose is like 10 mgs (not sure of the number - about half of a normal aspirin) per day.

Don't party until you talk to the doc and get your results. Rest, read, drink water (some gatorade won't hurt!), and eat several small meals throughout the day. When the doc says it's anxiety, celebrate and party a little.. just don't overdo it..

If you get a chance to come down, yell.

You can get pain in your arm and throw up with panic attacks. My left arm hurts and tingles all the time. There are different levels of panic attacks.

The symptoms of a panic attack appear suddenly, without any apparent cause. They may include:

racing or pounding heartbeat (palpitations);
chest pains;
stomach upset;
dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea;
difficulty breathing, a sense of feeling smothered;
tingling or numbness in the hands;
hot flashes or chills;
dreamlike sensations or perceptual distortions;
terror: a sense that something unimaginably horrible is about to occur and one is powerless to prevent it;
a need to escape;
fear of losing control and doing something embarrassing; and
fear of dying.

Adam_M 11-17-2008 10:47 PM

Take it easy mate, rest up until you see the doc.

that would explain it all... Hey man, the best medicine is to talk about it. Try to do things that you like to do, don't let the evil take over you. do some sports, go on a vacation man. Meet new people, get rid of all that negativity around you. NOW, you have work to do, wish you all the best.

I am so sorry you are going through this. You are going to be ok, and it really does get better. Go see your doctor as soon as you can and have him/her give you a Benzo to help you when you feel panicky. Also stay away from caffeine. Caffeine makes panic attacks worse.

Thanks Jane. Ya caffeine is off the list for at least a few days. Im well stocked with Mountain dew and coke, but have gatorade and 7up too. Im feeling a lot better now. Pressure is starting to lift finally. Still going tomorrow, but I feel ok now which is good. Thanks for everyone that sent the good thoughts and wishes. It really did make me feel much better. :thumbsup

Btw if anything good came out of what happened to Bjjb its that I made sure to goto get checked right away. Maybe he is smiling down. When he was hurt due to the spider bite I was planning on driving up to Kentucky to help him out, but before I could the worst happened. RIP

After Shock Media 11-17-2008 11:42 PM

Eat better since well your diet has been a bit off to say the least. I would add in some fiber as well just to help get everything moving. lay off anything that could be stressing you out. For panic reasons, lay off the smoking all together. Watch out on taking the aspirin every time you get signs if they are close together, do not want to thin the blood to much or take to many. Get a whole lot more rest. Do not just sit at your desk or computer all day/night. Walk around some, actually lay down, relax. Get better and seek follow ups.

Leave the coke on the shelf, that shit has way more caffeine in it than coffee.

Also, there's no way in hell they would have let you out of the hospital that fast if they thought this was about your heart.

Try to relax as best you can and maybe plan a trip to Panama or something :thumbsup

Hang in there, you'll be fine.

Caffeine would be bad as stated. Coffee on the other hand does have more in it than coke or mountain dew. Though I think he was on a Vanilla coke kick and I do not recall ever seeing him with coffee.

Well, I just looked it up and I stand corrected. You're right, coffee does have the most caffeine.

I am back on my swimming regiment. 3 times a week no excuses. I didn't go tonight cause until I get the full "you are clear" not risking too much. I feel much much much better right now. I can't say how I might feel tomorrow but as of right now I am good. My therapy is my youtube channel. No not posting it here sorry. Recorded 2 songs and uploaded them today. My music is my therapy. Im back writing again too (but right now youtube is just covers) Have a few writing dates with people that have top 10 hits so pretty pumped about that.

I just did a song I didn't think I could do, and realized having the wisdom tooth I had taken out a few months back did wonders for my range, and I have a bit more vibrato now than I did before. I pretty much had a mild case of lock jaw type symptoms for a long time cause of 4 impacted wisdom teeth. Now that my mouth has room my voice is coming back to what I used to be able to do 10 years ago. So that raised my spirits.

Robbie 11-18-2008 01:07 AM

Goddamnit Ryan! Get your shit together. You are gonna be in Vegas in a couple of months and you are going to have to be at full strength.

Take those aspirin every day and as soon as you get the green light from the doctor...it's cardio time. And then when internext hits, you'll be ready to come to Vegas and we'll drink and fuck whores all night. You're ticker will have to be at 100% or else you'll have to stay far away from me...hanging with me could kill ya. :)

ICQ me tomorrow and let me know what's going on. :)
