I think the rest of the world will be fine if they can survive the withdrawal process of getting the US out of their system. The US has outlived it's usefullness to the rest of the world... We aren't doing or offering anything the world needs.

The rest of the world will kick us like a bad habit if we don't turn that around... History proves that the leader of the pack will fall from it's pecking order when it becomes either economically or productively useless and unnecessary.

When the economy started tanking, I was thinking that selling gold contracts and buying a like number of platinum contracts was a no-brainer considering that platinum as an Industrial metal would lose value due to catalytic converter demand decreasing with slowing new-car sales, and gold doing better as a "Store of Value", especially if the markets are flooded with dollars and inflation fears heat up ---both sell higher if the dollar goes down, and both are also used in jewelry; silver has some jewelry value and x-ray/film industrial value but.....

wish I had indeed acted upon it, as the spread has recently and quickly reaped a huge profit. I'm a wimp for not diving into that (and/or also, but to a lesser extent, a gold/silver spread).

Btw dollar value is closely linked to stock exchange value.If dow jones and nasdaq index goes up dollar drop.I dont know why is that beacuse that work like you pulling a plug with value of dollar.Now i need to withdraw money before it drop to 4.5 from 5.Time to masterize currency rates and not losing money all the time.

This is called a correction in the market. No reason the dollar went up the past few months.

The dollar is not the only currency in the world, and it wasn't necessarily the dollar that went up in value, but the euro that decreased :winkwink:
