The victory was so many normal people joining a movement for change and achieving what was unthinkable a few years ago an intelligent guy with left of centre politics.

Also for some countries which have used the space created by the US losing two wars to break free of US control and or grow stronger- South America, europe, China

If the American people had power all the time and not just at elections they could then, of course, force through the policies they want of full employment health care and peace. Whether Obama will change the State or the State change him is the question....

He is a clever guy but he is up against very powerful forces which have the power and control in and outside of the state,

Will he be able to stop America being an Imperialist Power? Will he stop the settler client state of Israel's expansion? Will he stop the support of "friendly" dictatorships around the world?

If he doesn't abolish the IRS, the Federal Reserve, disassociate with the IMF and World Bank, nationalize all banks, create a national sales and import tax very soon start stocking up on food because you're going to need it. My guess is he won't do ANY of them so I'm putting my money where my mouth is going to be (and stomach is going to need) for the next 4 years. Consumer confidence is to get everyone to spend more money (run up credit) on shit they don't need to keep the money flowing to the super rich. That's it. The system has to have a complete overhaul or else we're fucked.
