It's just a matter of time before the other video stores face the same fate. They should take heed.

All thanks to Netflix.

yup, just like going to Virgin megastore or Tower Records to browse for cd's and listen at the listening station was an entertaining way to spend an hour in the evening a few years back....... times are changing fast

kids that are being born now won't hardly believe that we used to go to stores to buy music and rent movies

the funny part is it would have been so cool to have a netflix type service from them, where you could rent a video by mail or by going to the store for a monthly fee.

The advantage would be if the movie sucked, and you didn't like it, you could just drive to the local store and swap it for something better, rather then mailing it and waiting 3 days for the next movie to come.

I would have easily paid 20/month for a service like that.

They were the first to do that kind of service in the UK and I have been using it for years. It is the only service I ever of their but I use it all the time. We don't have netflix in the UK so this is how I get my DVDS. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be able to watch most of the world cinema I enjoy.

They do have that service. A friend of mine has been a member for awhile now. You can use the store a certain number of times per month, I believe.
