Nothing to be ashamed about. Also nothing to explain to others, its your business and it brings you money. As long as you pay your bills and taxes, there is nothing to complain about.

I have several companies, and have had other ones in the past.
One of my companies does adult stuff, mostly on internet, but also offline adult stuff. Other of my companies was for weapons development before I sold that one.
My family was more concerned about me having an air to ground missile launcher rack in the living room than having 10 people filming porn in the backyard.

When peaople ask me what I do, I just tell them that I run several companies. If they persist in what do these companies do, I just tell them that one of them provides adult stuff on the internet.

It's all about hoy you expose things.
"Hey mom, I run porn sites and they are giving me lots of money" sounds completely different than "Hey mom, I have started an adult internet business and it's doing quite good".

Be mature and professional and people will threat you as mature and professional.

Are your parents divorced? Sounds like she is trying to blame your dad for "messing" you up as a kid and now your in adult because of it. I dunno.

You should have been more honest with her from along time ago though.

Sounds like you need to sit her down and have a damn serious talk with her and explain that if she keeps this up that its only going to push you further and further away from her. The exact opposite that she wants. :2 cents:

I think it's because she is lonely and has no friends/hobbies etc so her life is revolved around thinking about me and I'm an only child so there are no other siblings to take the pressure off of me. I get the brunt of it.

As for what industry you work in.....if you were making loads of cash and she needed some.....would she come to you for help? Maybe tell her if you quit that you will need to borrow money from her, she will soon except what you do to earn a living and if she doesn't well then tell her you have a serious drug or gambling habit and see what she prefers. LOL

I personally am blessed as my entire family know what industry I work in and they support me 100% but I know that many people out there are not as lucky as I.

hell, when I started in this business it was my dad that helped me get started by letting me use his credit card to buy content and get hosting. Shortly after my mom found out. Of course it was not a big deal since my parents are very open minded and even if they weren't it would not have stopped me.

She should be happy that you are making money dude! Especially if she doesn't have to support you
