Who has been the biggest reason why the Magic are down 0-2? I think it is Kobe Bryant :)

The refs, its been a while since I've seen a game as lopsidedly called as the last one.

Yeah I guess that's why they let that obvious goal tending call go in the first quarter.

The refs do a pretty good job in most games and when they do a bad job usually both teams suffer not just one team.

Missed calls / bad calls for both teams just like every basketball game that has ever been and ever will be played.

Game one it was Kobe, game 2 was lost on the line. People want to say Dwight Howard is playing horribly but I would say the Lakers are doing a good job keeping him contained.

I'm not rooting for either team so I feel like I had an unbiased viewpoint. The phantom calls Kobe was getting late in the game along with the how physical the Lakers were playing on the defensive end with no calls was too much for Orlando to overcome. I understand the superstar treatment though, its been going on for decades in the NBA.

yep i agree. lakers were able to do something that the cav werent able to achieve and that was to contain d howard, keeping him from scoring 40 pts per game. if you defend him right, superman should only get around 10-20 pts per game.

I agree, I really thought Howard was going to have a bigger series. He's been pounding the boards, but offensively he's looked dreadful at times. I thought Bynum's size might slow him down some, but its really been Gasol who has locked him up most of the time. Howard is so slow to make his offensive move once he gets the ball, it allows the Lakers to double down. He also tends to spin back to his left, if he'd just go right up in the middle with a baby hook with his right hand before the double gets there, he'd be much more effective.

The refs missed calls on both sides but in the final seconds they gave the Lakers about 3 bad calls that even the announcers were wondering about. Those phantom calls sent Kobe to the line and allowed the Lakers to get the tie.

I know the refs have a hard job and have to make spit second decisions without the benefit of instant replay but it's a shame that something with so much on the line has so much room for error.

So true :thumbsup

Once you pass the ball to him, he does the same offensive move.. bounce..1..2..3.. plenty of time to double and triple him. The cavs tried it but their center wallace is too weak unlike Gasol.

But you have to give it to him when he went up to help Turkoglu to block Kobe.

I have a feeling Odom is going to have a monster game tonight and put the Laker's up 3-0

Porn Mickey 06-10-2009 10:08 AM

Orlando wins in game 3. They looked good and contained Kobe pretty well.

"You know, we're all frail as humans," L.A. coach Phil Jackson said. "Sometimes not as much as others."

Odem is that " X Factor "

You know Kobe is going to do his thing but just like Lebron found out it's not enough to carry his team. When Odom plays well he is a monster and can be the deciding factor. For that reason he is the Lakers player I fear the most.

Eric 06-10-2009 10:29 AM

They shot the lights out last night and only won by 4. Kobe will not blow another chance like tonight, and the Magic will not see another shooting night like that. Consider this series over.

art914 06-10-2009 10:34 AM

All the missed free throws by the lakers..

Cyandin 06-10-2009 11:03 AM

This next game is gonna be warfare. I expect to see some hard fouls on both sides, as this game is pretty much what the Lakers need to have this wrapped up, and the Magic to tie it up. I'm gonna call game 4 at 105-102 Magic. :2 cents:

For the series, I predict:

Game 4 - Magic
Game 5 - Lakers
Game 6 - Magic
Game 7 - Magic

EPIC.

The Magic did what they needed to do last night to get the win. They almost won game 2 and the Lakers are lucky to not be down 1-2 in the series.

The magic now have their confidence back, momentum on their side and home court advantage. They swept the Lakers in the regular season, defeated the defending NBA champions and dethroned the " King " in the playoffs.

This series is far from over and will be an epic fight all the way to game 7 :winkwink:

chuvii 06-11-2009 04:23 AM

Magic have a great shooting game, but there's only 3 games at Orlando. Alston will struggle at LA as Lee, so Magic need a brilliant games from Rashed, Turk and SuperMan. What about Lakers - they played good game on the road with high shooting % so can steal next game. Will see, Lets go Black Mamba!

voa 06-11-2009 04:25 AM

This gonna be interesting final 2-1 and 4th game ahead

You can call it luck, or you can call it whatever... You can say the Magic hit their free throws and they are up 3-1 right now. Keep in mind that you can say the same thing both ways and this series could very well be over right now.

The Magic are a very good, but very limited and very young team. They are going to be going deep into the playoffs for years to come.

This is Kobe and the Lakers year. End of story.

Porn Mickey 06-12-2009 12:14 PM

Yup, LA Lakers can wrap up their 15th title on Sunday night in Game Five!

The Magic needs an offensive guy. They're too limited like you said. Also, D.Howard needs to improve his free throws...

That said, the Lakers are the WINNERS for now.
