I was at a friends 50th bday party this weekend and decided to ask all the men and sons of the people there, when they surf porn where do they go. ALL said tube sites as it is free and they have all the variety they can think of.
I agree massive storage is something that changed the industry but it is the tubes with full lenght clips that is hurting it as anyone can do searches on tubes and find exactly what pleases them without the assle of storing on a hard drive. |
I've never collected porn, don't think I ever will. The closest to a collection I come is the content I've bought through the years and the sponsor content I use for sites, I never surf It though.

Apart from free streaming movies everywhere it's also easier than ever to create and keep a very own massive collection of downloaded porn. Add the increasing overall p2p / torrent literacy and it's so much porn out there that the explotable traffic pool must be shrinking over the course of time. The only thing to depend on is the very much impulse nature of buying porn and that there will still remain enough legit places to advertise the "paid" porn. |

My Worry
Good point, Steve.
What I lose hair about is that someday the downloaders will get so worried about copyright infringement court cases signaling an end to free stuff from the illegal tubes, or that new technology will soon spoil their piracy downloading, that they will "store-up" as much free porn as they can on their computers, blank DVDs, etc to form their own personal "Library" to sustain themselves for many years. Surfer mindsets seem to be that porn is free, so they will steal it by the TBs and have whacking materials to last them a lifetime. Then, some might pass copies to others, further hindering our Industry's timely "recovery" by any future closure of illegal tube sites. Yikes!!! |

I don't think it much a threat. Even if your assumption is true, the cycle of buying porn won't die because there is always a new generation of "porner". People die every seconds and a baby is born every seconds. So although the old generation may have collected all the porn they ever need, the newer generation have just started and it will takes years before they have their own collection. The cycle of buying porn will continue.
