i wouldn't consider audition overly gorey. it certainly had it's moments, but it was more of a psychological suspense sort of thing. Definitely one of my favorites when it comes to the whole j-horror thing.

Word is that there's a Machine Girl spinoff coming from Tokyo Shock, The Drillbra Sisters

Double the drill bra, double the win!

Oh it's not that bad until the final scene. That's all I'll say about that :)

Spelvin 08-07-2009 06:07 PM

Night of the Living Dead,
Suicide Club,
David Lynch's creepier shit like Fire Walk With Me or Mullholland Drive,
all these are guaranteed o give me nightmares...

Lycanthrope 08-08-2009 12:25 AM

It is more comedy than anything, but Motel Hell is a must see.

VeriSexy 08-08-2009 01:05 AM

The ring original comes to mind

i've watched it all. i (and my girl) have moved on to b (or even c) grade horror films lately. super funny, super violent. too many to mention but try trailer park of terror, and maybe hatchet. not everyone's cup of tea though.

and the classic b grade series: evil dead one and two, and then army of darkness, which is more funny than anything else, but seriously brillant.

You like gory stuff? Audition http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/

Both of those are great. It's better to see Audition without knowing anything about it.

Tale of 2 Sisters has one of the creepiest scenes ever in a movie. You know, the one when she's in bed in the morning, and that shit happens. I get chills thinking about it.

I also recommend Shallow Ground.

Oh, and for those who like the religious aspect, The Seventh Sign (demi moore) was always a favourite of mine, as was The Serpent and the Rainbow.

Trilogy of Terror (1975)

GrouchyAdmin 08-08-2009 02:05 PM

Burnt Offerings. It was out slightly before "The Shining" but is so much better - if you discount how creepy Jack can be. The whole story is awesome, but the ending is a bit trite and "Harry Potter" if you want my personal opinion. I still loved it, and would watch it again.

Comedy Options: Evil Dead. Redneck Zombies

John Carpenter's remake of 'The Thing'.

Classic sci-fi/horror - still stands the test of time.
