I dunno, there must be a little something nice in sharing your success with your colleagues. :)

I wonder how it would be viewed by the FTC and any states Attorney Generals Office if... say a mainstream, brick and mortar company created a fake persona, that went on tv and broadcast misleading and outrageous claims as to how much money he was making with a new product and it was all not real?

Jail time? Fines? Both? What about those representatives who actually planned it out, set it up and participated to make it happen? Also guilty? Co conspirators?

I've noticed over the same industry (and some of the same people in this thread) that bitch non stop about fraud and theft and dishonest practices can't stop itself from embracing those who perpetrate these same crimes... yet wonder why they continue.

For public companies, it might also involve the SEC. When people get on boards and ballyhoo worthless stock, I think it is called "Pump and Dump."

If the guy made roughly $300,000 and his profit is "50-100%" then it means he spent AT LEAST $150,000 in advertising. That is a serious ad budget. Few webmasters have that much cash for a monthly ad buy.

wow i wish i was making a percentage of those sales, very nice job indeed...

No, that's not what it means.

If his profit was 50% then he spent 200k.
If his profit was 100% he spent 0.

He's basically not given any clue to how much he spent, it's somewhere between 0 and 200k.

The first post sounds like an infomercial.
