It's for fags indeed who afraid of viruses and tech problem that they might meet using real computers PCs.

I've built my own PC's since about 1995. In that time I've had MAYBE 2 viruses and that was before I learned how to avoid them. I know PC's inside and out......I don't know shit about Mac.....Yet hear I am stating that my new Mac is is the best laptop I've ever had.

The fact that you feel the need to call somebody a fag because they like a Mac speaks volumes about you.

Perhaps we should attribute your stupidity to that as well.

You know the really sad thing... had you been a little more civil, the Mac store would have given you free training on the new machine... they roll that way.

area51 - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-19-2009 09:42 AM

Joe tell them the real truth, you're cash strapped so you returned the machine.

I was joking a bit man! Don't treat me that serious. I've got no problem with that someone may actually like macs... they have got quality hardware but I just can't stand os that's only my personal feeling... that's all. :thumbsup

potter 09-19-2009 09:45 AM

So it would seem everyone else has already pointed this out, but whatever I'm waiting for the gf to finish getting ready.

So it's YOU, not the machine. Obviously the machine could do this, you're just incompetent.

You couldn't name one single piece of software that doesn't run on a mac if your life depended on it. Not only is most of the high end software made for mac and ported to a PC, but there really isn't any software that isn't available for the mac or has a higher end counterpart for the mac. Let alone the ability to run windows OS -inside- osx.

What? You expect everyone here to believe that ICQ not working was the computer or software's fault? That's laughable. Obviously, yet again you've proved yourself incompetent.

Actually they're not. A comparable windows machine would cost the same. Take a look at the high end hardware mac uses in their machines. Then take a look at the shitty generic stuff most PC's have. You get what you pay for, and a good PC costs just as much as a mac. If you can't afford a measly $2k for a computer you're in the wrong business. Anyone I know serious about their work is on a $4k+ computer.

I was not in any way making the finger/thumb motion that is saved for changing text size . This was SO FUCKING ANOYING as every 15 minutes the god damed text would all of a sudden get really big for no freaking reason.

Incompetence.

The people at the genius bar do, their tech's. I bet you're confusing the sale's clerks with the genius bar.

Dell's are pieces of shit. I own a PC too, but it's home built. I wouldn't take a Dell if it was free. Their hardware is garbage, there's a reason their shit is so cheap. Oh, and your point is kind of ironic. Considering you came here to spend so much time bashing on mac. durrrrr.

All my Macs boot Windows and all my PCs boot OSX.

Having these Mac vs PC arguments is now even more retarded than ever.

they basically use the same hardware in a fancy box.. pc with a unix-type os is the only way to go.

gee, you guys are really defensive about it... Macs aren't for everyone, nothing wrong with that...

I never see any panties in a bunch in a PC / PC thread, but once an Apple product is brought up; bunched up panties everywhere.

In regard to price, I just picked up both the following for $1700 total (coupons used). I'd have maybe thought about an MBP, but why?

Dell Vostro 1720
Core 2 Duo T9550 2.66GHz
3GB DDR2 SDRAM
Nvidia GeForce 9600M 512MB
320GB 7200RPM Sata HD
17" WUXGA
OS: Kubuntu
-----------------
Dell Inspiron Mini 10V
1.6GHz Atom processor
1GB SDRAM
160 GB HD
OS: Ubuntu netbook remix

Anyway, enjoy the mac / pc discussion you'all. They're fun to read.

Seriously, anyone that pays $1700 for a Dell has to have mental issues

You can install OSX on the 10v just as you would any Mac...right from the Apple Retail discs.

Seriously man, all you posted is total bullshit and non sense. Macbook's are slightly more expensive but are much better and stable in every aspect. Compare it with Sony vaio and you'll see what I am talking about.
You can't find decent sony for less than grand and a half, and still it's not comparable with macbook pro.

i moved from a pc 6 months ago to a mac (and always used to be a mac hater). now i love my mac - the fact it doesnt crash every other day is just one of the reasons i love it :)

Yea I know -- they're Dells, oh well. I actually wanted an Asus or Sager, but couldn't pass up the deal. I also don't do graphics or video, just development work, so I saw no reason for a Mac.

I switched to Mac about 3 years ago. best thing I ever did. Windows fucking blows.

ToplistBlog_Com 09-19-2009 04:23 PM

I gotta say, I'm a PC guy all the way, but there are somethings that Macs can do as good or better. A lot of it is just a matter of preference. Me, I like to have more control over what my system does (which is why I still have XP instead of Vista). But that's not a knock on Mac users.

So, what can you do in XP that you can't in Vista?

xxweekxx 09-19-2009 05:00 PM

who is the fucktard that said a mac is 2-4 times more powerful than a pc..

how about we both get $5,000 to build computers.. I build a PC, you build a MAc

Lets see whos computer wins in benchmarks..

The truth is Macs are more expensive.. Dont know why you guys are arguing it...

If you know how to build a PC, you could build a stable windows pc for a shit load less, and its more customizable too...

I can swap memory in and out, change video cards, motherboards, add new pci cards, etc...

Good luck doing that with your mac :error

xxweekxx 09-19-2009 05:02 PM

PLEASE stop saying macs are more stable.. jesus..

I have a desktop tower i built 2 years ago, high end parts.. I have shut it down only once and that was cuz i moved to panama..

It DOESNT CRASh.. it hasnt crashed this year.. i run 4gb of ram on it...

I just reboot it once every 3-4 months.. jesus a well built pc is as good as a mac.. macs use regular components like ram, hard disk, etc..

its not like they are using special parts from god.. its the same shit in a nice interface

Jesus enough with the " If you do graphics or video, or music you have to have a mac" I've heard that shit since I started doing audio recording back in 99. Have to get pro tools, have to use a mac. Bullshit bullshit bullshit.. Jesus fuckin Christ. Friggin brainwashed sheep. As said above give me an equal budget to whatever mac you buy and I can build a pc that is faster and more stable. :1orglaugh
