I am stuck on 1 question right now that I don't know how to answer:

#34: "Human Life begins at conception and must be protected from that point forward".

To me this is a trick question. I know that Human Life begins at conception, but I disagree that it needs to be protected. (Women should have the right to choose and to get safe abortions).

Still stuck on this one..

argh

Well that is simple. Are you pro-life or pro-choice? Do you think women should have the basic human right to decide whether or not they have a baby when then become pregnant?

It's not hard.

Should women be allowed to control what happens to their own bodies or should the government have the power to decide for them.

I am astounded how many conservatives there are in porn.

What an idiotic test.

A religious conservative who wants to strongly regulate both the economy and society as a whole could well end up getting a similar score to a classical liberal who wants to regulate society as well as the economy as little as possible.

Using even a slightly more accurate scheme, there are 9 different basic positions which are fundamentally different:
Social freedom, economic freedom => classical liberal/libertarian/anarchist
Social freedom, economic regulation => neo-marxist
Social freedom, economic middle ground => liberal (in the US sense of the word)
Social regulation, economic freedom => capitalist conservative
Social regulation, economic regulation => communist
Social regulation, economic middle ground => classical conservative/reactionary
Social middle ground, economic freedom => neoliberal
Social middle ground, economic regulation => socialist
Social middle ground, economic middle ground => moderate

That's why the left/right divide doesn't work :2 cents:

Of course, a more complete scheme would also include the difference between positive and negative freedom in both the economic and the social sense. And that's ignoring other hard-to-classify issues like the environment, the judicial system and animal rights, where issues such as responsibility for the future/sustainability, punishment vs prevention vs rehabilitation and extension of rights play a role.

Which is why anyone who mindlessly follows one political movement is a complete and utter moron.

I wonder if its even possible to score 0 or 400 on this test.

There are 40 questions, which you are to rate from 0 to 10.

Do the math (literally).

If you select 0 x 40 questions you will score 0

If you select 10 x 40 questions you will score 400

That is all....

115, very conservative

It's not that simple. My wife works with children that are born at 24 weeks.... well into a period where they could have been aborted. Some of them are now 6 years old and perfectly normal kids that I have interacted with. You have a tough time telling me that at 24 weeks it is simply a matter of a woman's choice and the kid has no rights against being killed. On the other hand, in the first 3 months I think it should be the mother's choice and that we should stay out of it.... So the question is more complex than it was worded.

As to how many conservatives that there are in porn.... There are a lot of people that run their own businesses in this industry. We employ people, pay corporate taxes, deal with government regulation of businesses etc.... So we see things from the side of business and as entrepeneurs.

You DO realize that classical liberalism, what this country was founded upon, is very similar to modern conservatism, while modern liberalism is pretty much a perversion of everything.

I am labeled as "extremely progressive" by that test and I agree with your abortion stance but am even a little more conservative... I don't think abortion should be used as a contraceptive... the "morning after" pill works.

i m too lazy to take this test right now, but, i can say i m a liberal and i believe no need to follow stupid ideologies, just mind Your own business and live the way of Your own life, don't force others to do the same, thats enough.

if You want to go to Mosque, Church, Sinagog thats ok, but let people who want to go to Bars, discos etc or respect who does both or does not, then everybody will be fine, thats what we really call actual liberalism.

Biggest matter of Today's Humanity is lack of respect and creating "sides" and "the others", if we solve this problem, everyone will be happier then they were ever before :thumbsup
