1. why is it called football when they don't kick the ball, use their feet, etc.

2. why do those sissies wear all that protective gear.

facts:

1. the highest scoring players in football are the kickers. In fact, the top scoring position in the history of football is the kicker- by far. Moreover, the game is started with a kickoff, whenever a touchdown is scored a kick adds an extra point and each change of possession involves kicking the ball to the other team.

2. The highest numbers of sport-related injures are reported for basketball (409,799), football (376,115) and bicycling (317,041)

Where does soccer rank? Even though soccer players wear virtual no protection, soccer is ranked 14th of the 15 most-injury prone sports.

cheerleaders suffer more injuries than soccer players.

You missed some illuminating facts about your version of Football that most people around the world know about the NFL.;

*Close to 93% of all NFL injuries are caused by linebackers trying to do up their shoelaces.
*Cheerleader injuries are most commonly caused by players trying to rush hot dog and cotton candy sales people in between plays.
*Over 73% of NFL players wear their pads to bed
*During a 3 hour NFL game telecast, 18 minutes of real play is played. The remaining 2 hours and 42 minutes is filled with speculation over which NFL players will be released from prison early, to make comebacks.
*12 out of 10 game statisticians get their facts wrong, on purpose.
*The first official game of American Football was actually played in France.
*9 out of 10 spectators are 40% heavier then the average NFL players in uniform
*7 out of 10 NFL players don't like the heat, and get out of the kitchen
*The Guinness Book of Records World Record for most NFL players to fit into a phone box is 3. Inside were Randy Moss and two wide receivers who got lost in his hair in 1986.

And Finally...
*In a survey taken in 2008, 93% of NFL players said they'd rather play soccer, but got too fat in college to compete.:thumbsup:2 cents:

Joking aside, I actually love both sports, am a dedicated Vikings fan but you're obviously needling Brits for no reason, so you deserve a decent response.

On another note, I saw a play on the telly or somewhere the other day where the American Football team played it like rugby, ie backward passes and totally destroyed the defending team. Makes you think...

b) It won't work reversed, because none of us really care in the way Americans care. That funny little fucker I was baiting on my thread? Man he REALLY cared so passionately. British people just go meh.

c) Ideas you could try:

Islam/BNP/immigration/racism in Britain
All British girls are ugly
British people all have bad teeth

Good luck. I will be watching your progress and marking you accordingly at the end of the week.
