Its not just the internet provider, its the pc that matters also. I have just used the same modem but on my pc rather than my laptop & it seems I can get a few extra megs download

Ive just rang my ISP & they said the IP is in control of the download speed but the pc is in control of the upload.

Question is, is it the ram or something else? Does anyone know? madawgz, what are you running on your system?

Not even close to being relative. Even if GFY still loads like shit for you, you could still be doing a million other things at once. The more bandwidth you have, the better, simple. I hate when people say or think their internet is fast or sufficient when all they are doing is surfing one page.

I used to have an awesome 100mpbs telus line in Toronto that they were testing in the area that I lived in (CityPlace), now I am stuck on a bullshit 1mpbs satellite connection here in Colombia, where everyone will swear that it is a "fast" connection....
