Don't get me wrong, I don't think NK would win a war. I'm just saying that if they charged into SK, they could fuck some shit up with that many.

Russia did play a major part in the war - and in fact they were what started turning the tide against Germany (they're also the ones who stormed Berlin!). BUT, Russia had a huge advantage over N. Korea (and Germany) : fuck-off cold-ass winters that froze many Germans to death.

Besides, warfare is much different now than it was back then. I'm not saying it was trench warfare (a la WWI), but now we've got precision missiles, planes you can't hear/see/detect, PLUS most countries in the world would side AGAINST N. Korea.

Our involvement in WWII is what transformed us into the superpower we are today. If the U.S. hadn't gotten involved, Europe would look very different today.

well, yeah... but charging into SK is not that easy. The DMZ is anything but de-militarized. It's probably the most deadly section of land anywhere.

Well the deal with most dictators is they typically don't over step their bounds out side their own countries unless they think they can get away with it. Saddam for example didn't actually expect the US to get involved if he attacked Kuwait.

The dictators want to keep their power above anything and all else, thus avoid doing anything that will really piss off the outside world enough to cause a reaction. The difference with N.K and Kim Jong is I really do believe that guy is a lunatic.

S Korea wants nothing to do with a war with N Korea.

Seoul is spitting distance from the border and with 10 million people (over 24 million in the metro area) you are talking about huge casualties. Nearly half the entire countries population lives in the metro area and Seoul is one of the top 10 financial centers in the world.
N Korea knows they can get away with all kinds of shit cause the South won't risk full scale war.

Read some actual Vietnam history for a change and stop getting your "resources" from YouTube. It was a highly unpopular war and the politicians put so many restrictions on the leaders on the ground as to how & when they could operate and with what level of force throughout the entire war that "winning" was not possible. This is not my opinion, it is fact. It is documented history.

We won every single battle in Vietnam, yet still lost the war. Why? Because of this rule: When the tactics are right, but the strategy is wrong, battles will be won, but the war will be lost. And who are the people in charge of the strategy? Washington.

The nukes the U.S. used in the 2nd World War were a few thousand Kilotons. The bombs that North Korea has tested were smaller than that. Most of our nukes are 1 Megaton bombs but we have missils with multiple rentry war heads usually with five 1 Megaton bombs. We have tested much larger bombs and do have larger bombs in our arsenal but they would only be used in a "dooms day" type scenario.

North Korea is only a match for South Korea...end of story.

NK's military is backwards, poorly trained, and poorly armed - just like Russia during WWII. However, with their numbers.... They can do some serious fucking damage.
