What I think what comes out of this thread, which should be noted, is that we have now reached a level in the industry and on the boards where there are enough women in it who are here because they are actual industry workers/players rather than just content that it isn't all that big a deal that they are a woman.

When I first started in the industry, the boards were vastly male. I can remember about four other women who were regulars on the boards then - Tam, KimmyKim, Red, Peaches. There were others in the industry (PK, Max Cash's own Aly, Tonda, etc) that I didn't see on the boards that much when I got involved (at least not the ones I chatted on) but were still really active on the business side. I find it interesting, that we are all still around and working at various levels in the industry.

To me, it is just great that there are so many *business* women around now that people couldn't simply list them off the top of their heads.

Don't forget Diana from dianadoes.com. She used to post quit regularly back then as well.

Really cool to see all the girls on these forums. Like Sarah said, it was mostly guys back in the day and the girls were the content and not part of the industry. Very awesome :)

I totally agree with Sarah's comments about how there are more women in the industry who are "normal" workers (not the right wording, I know). Women on the boards and at the shows used to stick out and get pigeon-holed (har har) just because they were female. It's good to see some real equality come into the industry in the past five years or so.

Cheshire disappeared right before Devon appeared as an employee for the same person. The only reason I remember that is because at the time I thought it was funny that they apparently had a policy only to hire women named after English counties.
