A wimpy battery is a deal killer for me.

If you disable the vibrating touch pad, turn your screen brightness down, turn off the 4G, Wifi, bluetooth and turn apps off that you are not using, the battery is a zero issue. Just sayen. But if you are like me and you like all of the bells and whistles, just keep extra chargers around. So you can have the best of both worlds. Bigger battery=bigger phone. Would not want it any bigger than it is.:2 cents: |

It is quite simple, you stupidly thought that a person can try a fiesta & then state they do not like a mustang??? WTF :error I do not like fords nor do I like HTC or motorola phones. I think Blackberrys are ok but I certainly do not like the layout of them. My opinion. Quote:

You either say the EVO is a boring looking phone, or HTCs are boring looking phones. |
Quote:
Oh, may I also say, I am not stating the EVO on its own. I do not personally like the HTC phones of which I have held one & did not like it. I suppose, like once you have drove a car & then do not wish to drive that make any more or maybe you do not like a MAC & yet the new MAC could be perfect for a person. Its my own opinion of which I just do not like HTC.... Hoping this is ok with you. |
Quote:
The HTC you held has NOTHING in common with this one. Not the software, not the hardware, not the layout... The HTC EVO is a Google Android Phone. If anything you could say you don't like Android. Unless, you are talking purely emotional brand appeal, but if so, what is the point? |

The Cosworth Fords are not boring. You have never driven one. The Mustang is not boring. You have no idea, because you have never driven one. You have NO IDEA what the Evo is like, because it is not out in the UK, you have not touched one and you have no idea what it does. So to offer your opinion on the new HTC phone based on an old one you claim you have touched is really really really fucking stupid. Quote:
Although I am sure your expert opinion on a phone you didn't even know wasn't coming out in the UK will help people in America make purchasing decisions. Quote:
You have no idea what an Evo is. You haven't held one and you seem to not realise that Ford make Mustangs. But I *love* you wearing your stupidity on your sleeve like it is something you are proud of. Well done. xxx |

He hasn't seen the Evo. He thinks HTC is a model, not a make. He is really, really stupid. Don't waste your time with him. |

The battery issue is already being addressed by the dev community at XDA.
No worries regarding the battery on this phone. Out of the box, it's already better than what I was getting with my Samsung Moment. |

Do you think a Focus is like a cosworth? There is nothing wrong with you not liking a make. There is something wrong with you coming on a thread about the Evo and pretending you know what it is, and that you have tried it and that you don't like it. Quote:

You are really fucking stupid. But I love pointing this out. Thank you for hanging around here. You are very good value. I keep asking for you to be unbanned from that other forum you keep reading, although you a banned. Shame. |

I see what you are saying, but then again its Google we are talking about. Their business is not my contacts. I dont see them going through my contacts to call my friends and business contacts. They have been doing this for a bit already with no complaints. And the internet is a place where everyone goes to complain.:2 cents: I would have more of an issue if i were the president, but im not. I have 920 contacts with details on all of them. Nothing that would warrant Google or anybody to show any interest in trying to procure. At the end of the day if they got out it would be as simple as leaving a message on my voice mail out going message saying "if you get a strange man from Google calling you, im sorry. Google stole my contacts" lol Been playing with this phone a lot. Its been a lot of fun. So many free APPs. |

anyone try skype video chat?
been searching on web, read about using fring, or qik for $4.99/month.. or how skype released it for verizon, but other networks could get it end of year.. what does it take, if it works, to have video skype working? i am on the fence about iphone or android, and having video skype (with front facing webcam) might tip the balance. Fight the 411! |

Of course with this you are also giving up other elements of your privacy if you are now constantly logged into your Google accounts, so that they are now collecting data on you as an individual including your emails, your web searches, your physical location plus contacts and calendar. I do use some of Google's services including the search engine, Google analytics, Google documents and now this Android smartphone. I just don't feel like putting every one of my eggs in their basket. If Microsoft came up with a Windows smartphone with Evo 4G specs, a user friendly interface, and fast processor, I would certainly be wide open to giving that a go next year. I like the Evo 4G for a lot of reasons, but joining the Google collective without questioning the wisdom of it isn't necessarily one of them. |

ya, i saw that, and various other blogs were linking to the same video. want to know if anyone on GFY has actually done it. Fight the iChallenge! |

Check this page out. http://androinica.com/2010/06/03/best-evoapps/
So, i down loaded this barcode scanner that uses my camera to scan bar codes on this website or at the store. I scan the barcodes with my phone camera on the website above and my phone sees it, then goes and down loads that APP on the spot. That is pretty bad ass! I did it at the store and it told me what local store had the item cheaper and what website has it cheaper too. WTF?? Technology is crazy!! Shopsavvy is the program im using for barcode scanning, but there are a few out there. Post cool APPs that you want to recommend. Thanx |

The fella with the HTC was chatting on about the apps saying that they have more.... No way, too many apps with apple. |
Got the Evo first thing on release day, such a badass phone! For those bitching about the battery, be a man and buy an extended life battery! It aint rocket science :) I have the 1800mah from Mugen and I can easily get 8-10 hours of moderate use. If thats not enough, Seido makes a 2000mah and also a 3500, but that requires a new back.
