in the mean time I will use this laptop til the new one arrives and put this one up for sale. I thought about taking it in to see if i there anything on that can be upgraded or kept but I dont know I will probably just keep the RAM as a back up maybe this RAM can fit into my netbook.

if the netbook had more power I would be using that to stream my webcam shows at least.

I wouldnt have vista running on anything other than 300gb.....

Get a new machine, with windows 7 and maybe 3 or 4 gb ram with 400 or mroe harddrive, you shall see her fly. Even with i3.

There is the acer aspire i3 processor that you can pick up for about $500 :2 cents:

I think it comes down to the particular model not just the company you're buying from, I've had 2 Toshiba laptops and each of them only lasted a few years before the screens went to shit and other misc problems. Now I have a Gateway that has been flawless for just as long..

some say dell is good some that it sucks
same goes for toshiba, hp, mac, lenovo.....

and since you won't get any useful answer, just go to a laptop shop and buy what or most expecive (always works if you got the cash) or the one that you like the most...

You did it wrong. Just go ahead and take the Applications disc and break it in half and toss that fucker in the trash, it's that good. The Vista OS dvd does not load any non-Windows applications. During install, delete the old OS partition, select the empty space and let it install there. Then load up your drivers disc. Voila! Smoking fast laptop that you thought was passed it's prime.

I just picked up a Dell 11z dual-core intel netbook with 2GB of memory, from the Dell outlet. Using the 15% off coupon code that they re-run, I scored it for $328 shipped. The 11z's are pretty sick little mini-laptops. However, the built-in webcam blows, so you would want to plug in a better video camera for webcam streams.

They spend hours on the phone with you, send parts that don't fix it and it is down for weeks at a time.
Meantime my other laptop (NOT A DELL) keeps on chugging along.
And yes I have the top of the line Dell laptop, cost mega bucks and sucks . . .

All the Flak you want at me, but NEVER NEVER EVER Buy a Dell in my opinion ! ! !

The worst thing about Dell's are the special fans and heatsinks they use in their desktops. You are NOT upgrading the CPU heatsink. I mean, the desktops are good and all, but it sucks that even their case fans are some retarded design that you have to get replaced from Dell at a premium price. First time I ever saw some one get a fucking used case fan.

Considering I have always built my own systems for the past 8 years and my new circumstances means I needed a laptop.. no regrets with the Sony :thumbsup

I would not & could not recommend any other than the laptop I use.

The Acer aspire. 4gb, i5 processor, 64bit, HDMI out, true cimatic & dolby theater sound, 512 ATI graphics & 600gb harddrive.

Its got a lovely screen with the 16.9 hd led & the keyboard is so sweet. The buttons are lovely. The outside design looks fantastic and to finish off the crystal eye webcam is so good we use it for live camshows half the time! :thumbsup

I agree, I have the same laptop. It is great for editing and web cam shows. I have not used the built in web cam yet, I prefer to use my trusty Logitech 9000.

Most of the time we use our 3ccd panasonic camera for cam as the quality is obviously exceptional. But the crystal eye is fantastic in low light levels and I think is hd. You can change all of the parameters of contrast & hue, plus it usually shows on AW & other camsites as 640 wide which is perfect for surfers :thumbsup

I have become a big toshiba fan, personally. HP's I have had some hardware problems with.

minniesoporno 06-29-2010 08:29 AM

Well I installed Windows 7 to this laptop Dell 1525 its been about 20 somethings hours it seems to have improved. I did call up MDG I remember when I had thier desktop it was great so I am looking into getting thier laptops

I never had a problem with thier desktop until I decided to run voyeurs cams on it then I over heated the motherboard. but since I am no longer broadcasting voyeurs I can go back to milder computer usages of broadcasting my cams, some video blogging and video editting. when I was using my computers for that purpose they lasted a lot longer.
