according to the topic....

i was in thailand, i was in indonesia, i'm living in eastern europe...it's really hard to retire with such amount of money, unless you are in ascesis of many things....

for example: in thailand i was spending around 45-50 usd daily...
in indonesia: around 30, only because they don't have that many good massage saloons ( i mean normal massages...)

and now i live in eastern european country and i spend around 25 usd daily heheh...but it's only because i stay in one place, don't pay for petrol, and do go to massages.....heh....kinda astetic life with such amount of money here....but i know that people earn less here and get by.....and in thailand they earn on average 200 usd...in indonesia 100-150....so go figure....you will always spend more if you are not citizen and a tourist/visitor.....if you want to spend less go to some countryside and do nothing here....but is it life is for ? ;]

Living permanently in third-word shitholes gets old really fast. You are much better off living in the US for half a year, and spending half a year in Lat America or Thailand. But you want to live abroad as strictly a tourist, just partying and screwing women, two months at a time. You don't want to try to live there and deal with all the bs issues locals deal with. You will need $2,000/month to stay in ok hotel and party in Lat America. If you are reasonably attractive and fit, you will screw lots of non-pros for free with minimal effort.

I think you can make it in Ecuador, Colombia and Nicaragua. Not living large, of course, but decent and in a safe neighborhood. Bolivia for sure, but it's a harsh place to live.

Here in Czech $400-$500 a month would not get you much except a couple of rooms in a village. And a crap diet.

On your budget you won't get to see much of anywhere you move to. Work harder or change jobs and retire when you can afford it.

exactly, there's people here that do it (TH) but these are people with a tiny room, no AC, to TV, no fridge, etc. can have no nightlife. Biggest excitement for them is sitting outside the local market at 11am with a few large chang beers once a month.

The lowest spending month I ever had here was about $2000usd and that was literally only going out twice and not including rent.

Trust me, you can`t retire in Romania even with $1k per month. Maybe few years ago, let`s say 15.
Romania is exotic only because of the gypsies who are populating it. Leaving the joke behind, this country have some virgin, wonderful places but is quite expensive. Be prepare to tip anyone, to have the worst medical services and to pay a huge rent. I could describe it for hours but I am sure you won`t be happy with what I say.

Most people living in Czech on a low wage are living with their family or in a Government apartment. Tourists don't get them.

Only one place comes to mind... Mexico. Wander away from the touristy areas of many cities there and you can live quite well on very little. There are people living on less than ten bucks a day there, I'm sure your $500 a month would see you through just fine as long as you watch your spending.

And women of Northern Mexico are in many cases very white-looking. Some you'd swear were completely white and from another country.

So there you go. The question is, as it is with all the suggested countries in this thread... would you want to live there?

as others have said, Thailand (can) be a good option if you want to go on the ultra cheap. i've met people there who live on almost nothing. the remote south islands such as koh lipe and koh tarutao, ex-pats can live on almost nothing. we met this one guy on tarutao who built his own little place, bought an air con, and talked one of the few hotels on the island into hooking him up with their power generator, in exchange for fish that he caught each day. definitely not my type of lifestyle lol, but pretty cool none the less.

the islands rock though. so beautiful and chilled out.

I live in a diving community in the Philippines. My rent, electric, cable and internet are under $400 a month. I have an ocean/sunset view and aircon. 1000 square feet studio with separate, kitchen, bathroom, hot water with a great porch to watch the sunsets.

I spend $10-$15 daily and usually win that much playing billiards against tourists.

It can be done. (Many tourists are white women!)
