Those "mistakes" could also be simulated

When it doesn't take 300 programmers and 48,000 man hours or about 1 month to create just 15 minutes of footage.

also Loki no disrespect to you and much respect for everything you have done and are doing...but the terms "3D" and "toons" have no bearing on the future of CG erotica. Unless of course your CG porn is stereoscopic or cartoonish in nature. Like "anime" and "hentai" the term 3D Toons mean very different things now and don't at all descibe where this paradigm is going.

(sorry took so long to respond, flooded basement to deal with lol)

Thanks for the props for my years of service, appreciate it.

and no disrespect taken, however the terms 3D and Toons do and will have a bearing on the future because for almost the last 15 years now that is what we have been beating into the heads of our buyers, fans, customers etc, and that is what they have been and will continue to search for.

back in the late 90's we tried the whole CG Porn, CGI Porn, CG erotica, CGI erotica etc etc, but it never really stuck not too mention the search results would then also be filled with results for the CGI coding stuff, we opted for 3D Toons, and it stuck and I do believe it will continue to stick, it took hundreds if not thousands of us years to teach the surfers and webmasters to use the proper terms, I don't see a name change in the upcoming years, farther down the road maybe, but for now and at least the next 5 years lets say, 3D Toon / 3D Toon Porn / (and my fave) Erotic 3D Toons are here to stay.

Now if you want to take the reigns and try a name change and recreate all the steps we did years ago, by all means do it, but rest assured you'll piss off all of us who own all the "3D Toon" domains we worked so hard to make work with the engines lol.

I'm all for a name change IF and ONLY IF 3-D makes the porn push, because THEN it will be a needed name change, until then, it's really just semantics

when avatar came out he said in the next few years they could make a movie with james dean, bogart and monroe and it would be believable. so I would think they could do porn too

mlove 08-31-2010 01:02 AM

Real men do not beat off to drawings!

Fenris Wolf 08-31-2010 01:25 AM

What price point are we looking at then when you can expect porn actors to be replaced with CG? Won't that be the defining moment when a content producer will say, "Fuck, this cost the same as doing it all on CG"?

bbobby86 08-31-2010 02:18 AM

if they could produce something that looked 100% real and sounded 100% real and kept the fact that it was all CGI a secret... will be great...

absolutely nonsensical argument already proven false by Avatar. James Cameron is the star of Avatar. nuff said on that

as for budgets - wrong again, it's much cheaper now to do BIG stuff in CG rather than live action, and as the prices on these technogies and drop and render farms proliferate we will soon be seeing producers go all CG to SAVE money. Agreed though it will be a long time for porn to adopt and catch up but it will happen.

I'm really surprised at the short sightedness of many of you in the porn biz while most here in Hollywood have accepted this paradigm shift as an enevitabilty.

You have a point there, but it doenst mean my argument were nonsense :)

Avatar is a fantasy movie situated in a word that was made up, everybody knows that, so it makes it easy to accept a lot of computer work, cause everybody knows its computer generated from the start. The movie is about the fantasy world itself, its not based on actors. Porn is about real things - pussy, dick, fucking :)

I think there is some misunderstanding in this thread. Its obvious that computer generated movies, be it porn or not are here, and will get more popularity with time. This thread was about real life actors loosing jobs because of that. Thats what I was pretty much reacting to.

So many movies today have scenes that are almost entirely CG and they are done so well that the general audience can't tell the difference and with that it brings a general acceptance.

Cameron's " Titanic " leaned heavily on CG to create the movie and the audience accepted it. They were willing to overlook the fact the scenes were not real and immerse themselves into the story.

The OP's question was about CG becoming exactly like real life actors and I think at that point the audience will again be able to overlook the fact it's not real and instead focus on the message it's sending.

I once saw an article about Photoshop and they had a picture of a female " model " that was actually a composite of features from many models that had been stitched together using PS. The eyes from one model the nose from another and so on. The end result was a seemingly real model. If I were to post that pic in a would you hit it thread EVERYONE, except those that already new it's origin would think that was a real person.

The day will come when actors will be replaced in the same way and the audience will accept it.

Slutboat 08-31-2010 06:49 AM

3D toons porn- sorry great names keep em rockin but sometimes markets and the public create or change names for things regardless.

agents for major actors in Hollywood are writing deals for stars to get paid CG likeness royalties for films they will be starring in but never apperaring in, as in the movie Beowolf with Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins... voice doubles are next.

Raf1 08-31-2010 06:57 AM

probably faster than we think :)
