maccsta 08-05-2011 02:23 PM

Easily A. That particular pose is spot on, a girl showing her armpit like that is very powerful body language.

Of course she has got her legs spread too, thats a big "come and fuck me" as well :)

It's a very open inviting pose, but the elbow could be a touch more to the left so not pointing at the viewer.

A Shows the least and invites in.

B. Is a little closed and hiding.

C & D Have that annoying chair back in the picture, though I could PS that out. Both "busy" shots

E. Is waiting for something to happen and the eyes are good. And the least "busy" shot of all. There's just Susane and nothing to detract from her.

I'm very harsh with my work, often harsher on myself than I am on others.

Yeah even though she is fully clothed in image A its the most powerful. The other's leave little to the imagination. I guess you are right about the elbow position. There is some psychology behind the armpit pose, not sure what it is, something to do with pheromones.

If a girl shows you her armpit like that, there is no doubt she wants you sexually ;)

It's body odour.

A persons natural smell sets off emotions in others. In the case of the opposite sex, it's sometimes the trigger for love.

Of course not bad body odour. :1orglaugh

As you are not educated or trained you don't know what you don't know.

Ask someone who knows what they are doing and you will open up a new world of critical possibilities.

Lace 08-05-2011 04:50 PM

I vote for....F! None of the above.

pornsprite 08-05-2011 09:34 PM

I voted for E her face is pretty enough to be considered art to me.

Spunky 08-05-2011 09:54 PM

I like D ,nice shot

AsianPimp 08-05-2011 09:57 PM

I vote for A and D.. both images are perfect for marketing..
nice face projection and the contours of her body really shows..
if you will make D a glossy or dream type photo.. it would be perfect..

cooldude7 08-05-2011 10:23 PM

I find it absolutely astonishing how somebody can work at their craft for a whole lifetime and yet still only manage to produce the type of work that anybody who just purchased a camera and lighting kit could.

Thank you for the compliment. Yes it's amazing that for 30 years I could stay in business and produce something anyone could. :thumbsup

Makes you wonder what I'm so good at, shooting or selling. :thumbsup

Thank you for the compliment.

I do love it when the less bright try to flame and it turns into a compliment. :1orglaugh

Pete = Owned.

very true. Which is why I said a while ago that my content isn't good enough for todays market. Some thought I was talking only about my content, not that it applied to most content.

Our main market were the teen magazines. Which it seems so few could get into, even though it seems anyone can shoot this content. :upsidedow

They wanted us to find brand new or undershot girls for their mags. They didn't want fancy innovative work. They liked our styles of this kind or the more amateur style we shot on location. Should we shoot more elaborate with more experienced girls when it pays the same?

However with only a couple of handful of magazine publishers and max 30 mags we sold to we were fine. We didn't need to get too innovative.

Now compare that to online teen sites. 30 0r 300 or 3,000 or 30,000?

You can't compare a market with 30 outlets worth selling to and one with 1,000s.

How many times does a surfer hit a teen site and say to himself. Nice pics and vids, but the same old same old stuff I've seen 1,000s of times before? It's just another girl on another sofa going through the same act.

With the scene I shot for Manwin everyone ignored what I was doing. They didn't cut it as they should of though. However I shot it so the real girl shone through, the next girl I would of shot, if working, I would of shot the same way and made her real personality shone through. And the next one again the same way. This way even though it's still a girl on a sofa type content, the setting, sofa and lack of rose, the girl makes every scene hers.

Cheap yet effective way of making a site more interesting, better conversions and retention. Extra cost, little though you can't shoot 5 scenes a day with a guy who can only point a camera and has the lights.

This style was exactly how I shot Astral Blue ended up with a catalog of 300 1 hour videos and every girl doing it here way. Could write a book on this. :1orglaugh

CYF 08-06-2011 12:51 AM

What are your thoughts about stairwells? Have you ever shot stills on a stairwell? Check it out. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Stairwell Madness

Yes I have. Still if the girl is doing the same on the stairwell as she's doing on the sofa, the difference is slight.

Today it needs far more imagination and innovation to come up with something different.

Going shopping and will post one later.

John-ACWM 08-06-2011 03:39 AM

I like C the most!

If all you see is a stairwell and all you see is a sofa, it leads me to believe that photography was never really your true passion and that it was just something you did for a living. I don't mean that as an insult in any way. In some ways, a lack of vision and/or personal style can actually be beneficial from a business standpoint because it allows websites and magazines to publish your work without fearing that your style will clash with their existing brand or, even worse, become synonymous with their brand. There's naturally a larger market for unbranded, technically sound products than there is for products that come pre-branded.

To put that into perspective, let's say you needed to hire someone to film your wedding. Would you rather get someone who knows how to use a camcorder really well and is aware of lighting issues and which angles are most flattering or would you rather hire someone like David Lynch?

As far as coming up with something different, it really does not take much. Look at this set from Hegre. It's very simple, but with a creative use of shadows. No sofa. No stairwell.

Even though the wall definitely adds something to this shot, it's still pretty much just a girl and a sofa. Ever do anything similar?

I really do suggest that you read what I wrote about Michael White's use of stairs because you might learn something.
