Topless Models In Newspapers
 

I've read a few times on here, including just a few days ago, about people's surprise that the UK allows topless (page 3) models in it's newspapers.

Why does this surprise or shock some Americans in particular? (even on gfy lol)
What would happen if an American newspaper decided to have this feature? Would it be allowed or would it cause uproar?

Haven't you heard, pictures of dead soldiers are fine but boobs are taboo on this side of the pond. Someone with caught with weed can also get more jail time than a rapist in some states.

odly i am against page 3.

the reason being is that (while the sun insists on natural and not fake boobs) i feel its led to thousands of women feeling that only big boobs are sexy and need to have boob jobs.

i also find it odd that the sun is a 'family' newspaper and prints topless pics.

i would not wish my doughter (if i had one) to see these pis each day. not becase i am against porn, but becase i would not want her to have a complex about her body.

in fact i have written a few timews to jacky smith (i think thats the mp's name) saying that. a few years ago shew was on tv, and i sent in an email saying i did porn but felt page 3 gave women a complex. they read it out, with the remark saying they were not sure if it was a fake email.

i have no problems with topless or nude in the sunday sport (if its still going) as thats more a comic.

if page 3 had different types of women, to me that would not be a problem. but it tends to be only while big boobed blond women. to me it should also have small chested women as they are just as sexy. and alt girls too.

Used to pay a lot of money for a single shot. I got some into The Sport and Sunday Sport, which didn't pay so well.

The Sun paid $2,000 and up for a single shot. Back in the 90s a few shooters would take 5-7 girls to Spain, Portugal, Canaries and shoot content. One of the shooters was a guy called Mick Miles. Sometimes it's just nice to keep things light, particularly when a lot of news is depressing. The Sun was always a more 'happy-go-lucky' newspaper, that I recall anyways. Silly wild stories from abroad, and other interesting tidbits.

Unfortunately when I was growing up my dad used to get The Telegraph so never really got to see much of page 3, unless it was a sneaky peak when I was doing my paper round.
