We had a baby girl! - 01/11/12
 

Hey guys, I just wanted to share with everyone the exciting news of the birth of my baby girl...Marlow Elaina...on January 11, 2012.

She is our first baby and we are still adjusting and learning quite a bit...I welcome all parental advice!

I'm so happy and overwhelmed with emotions...and it really feels like my family is complete now.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that with all my peers here on GFY. Along with all the great experiences we had during XBIZ LA and InterNext, this was just another amazing thing to have happen to us over the last 2 weeks!

I wish you ultimate patience [both of you should start practicing yoga ;) ] and strenght and helping hands for the first 2 months.
Be careful: nowadays the 'too much information' can drive you crazy. you can find both pro and contra for every issue on this topic.. hard to decide sometimes, but hey: listen to your heart, and be PATIENT and things will go on a right path. :pimp

Congratulations! My wife had our first baby, my son, Akiva, on September 2nd. It's amazing, and you will find yourself loving them more and more every day in a way that you never realized you could love anyone else before in your life. Enjoy!

My first baby boy is coming up in about 4 weeks from now :)

Always ask yourself if you could be spending your time with your kid(s) better and then adjust for giving them more. The time goes by VERY fast and each moment only comes around once!

My wife's a pediatric OT, and she and I are using the book "What to expect the first year". Closest thing that I've ever seen to a "manual" for babies... :-)

and always keep in mind: for thousands of years babies were growing up laying in dirt and still we are here...

And on that note, I will add tjhree hings.

One: It is impossible to spoil a baby under 6 months old. Love her and be patient with her no matter how "bratty" she might SEEM to act at times.

Two: we have taken him everywhere. He was on my boat at 16 days old, we have been taking him out and about to dinner parites and we DON'T keep a quiet house. We decided that we would not spend all our time shaping our lives around him, but rather include him into our life. It's worked out great. Once he is asleep, he can sleep through a drumset being thrown down next to him. No tiptoeing around.

Three: Once they get over a year, it's ok for them to stick grass and dirt in their mouth. (not swallow of course), it's GOOD for them to get exposed to germs, don't keep them in a bubble.

Congrats, do enjoy her now as they grow fast.

Congratulations to you and your wife Joey! Tell your wife not to try and get things done around the house while the baby sleeps right now...she needs to catch sleep in that time as well or she will be miserable fast. Other than that, my advice is to enjoy every precious minute with her and take lots of pics because this time is so fleeting and you will always cherish it.
