After my third year in, I signed up for, and went through, Ranger Indoctrination Program with the intent of then signing another 6 year hitch for Special Forces, but then my girlfriend back in LA was going through a big bunch of crap and I decided to get out instead. Short term I thought I had made a terrible mistake, but MAN, would my life have been different!

I tried out for Force Recon three times when I was in the Marines. In fact, I took the test to see if you were eligible to take the "real" test. I failed three times, each time a different part. The first part was a long run on the beach in boots and full gear, the second was an insane obstacle course. I never made it to the third part of the test.

Recently we had a new guy start to hang out with us, and he was telling us he was a Marine in Recon. He was unable to answer any basic question about what he did when he was in the Marines. I've noticed he no longer comes around.

I noticed how that is most common "military"lie how someone was in special forces.

I am sure you would have had any problems becoming special forces guy if it wasn't for your girlfriend. I was MI6 assassination contractor but also got out because my cat got sick and needed extra care at home.

specOps are allowed to talk about their positions, they can just not discuss any classified jobs they have been on.

i know a couple of ex seals and rangers and a still active army sniper(kids got issues). Only the sniper talks about his work much, still getting over it, i guess. A girl I know in high school, her dad was one of the original SEALS, he was a very smart man. crazy thing was, he never made noise when he walked, even on gravel, or the super loud creaking steps in their house, kinda creepy.

It is a very common lie. The truth is anyone in Special Forces tend to down play anything they did.

I have no idea if I would have made it. I didn't claim that I would have. I was three years in the army, back from Desert Storm, (2nd battalion of the 18th F A Regiment, 212th brigade), and had then completed the R.I.P. at Fort Benning, and was eligible to try out for SF. I was going to volunteer to go for it, until the stupid girlfriend issue came up. So instead I decided to just get out, as my term was up. My DD214 shows this.... So you can stick your sarcasm up your cats ass.

Your DD214 shows info about you getting out due to your ex? Does is also detail that other horrific situation you were involved with during your service?

My discharge papers has list of people I killed and picture of my precious cat Twinkle with his vets papers. We both could have been heroes!

No offense meant to you or anybody else who has served....BUT....Posting such pics doesn't prove anything. Uniforms, patches, etc...Can all be purchased from other sources. I busted a guy last year who was claiming a fake military record. I reported him to StolenValor.com and a couple other sites.

Just because I own a Paraclete plate carrier and a King County Sheriff S.W.A.T. patch doesn't make me a member of their team. Since I'm not trying to pretend, I have no need to redo my carrier to further prove my point....Hopefully you get the idea.

Like some others have said, I know a number of operators and not one of them is outspoken about their service activities. Most play it very low key and will be found on forums like Socnet way before GFY.

Operators don't go around claiming fame, and couldn't be bothered if you knew they were SF or not. They will, however, always claim military service in general.

Who is being outspoken about anything here in this thread? Certainly not me. Just became a little tired of reading everyone elses military duty which does not pertain to the threads topic. Of course this is GFY where a large percentage of people are judgmental and have to weigh in no matter if it's topic related or not.

As for part two of your question; I've since retired from the military.
I am currently a amateur adult content producer as for the reason I am here on this board. I am also co-owner of a once failed night club.

My apologies for not trolling and responding to every GFY board thread but building up a brand in the adult market and co-running a night club does take precedence.
