If you know how to tie the knot, and the drop is long enough, it's actually one of the most humane ways to die. Your neck just breaks and you're unconsious within seconds.

If done improperly, there is no time limit... If your neck doesn't break, the bloodflow to your brain isn't interrupted and you can easily breathe it can last a long time... I read some story about a chinise guy trying to hang himself. After about 30 minutes he couldn't stand the pain anymore, and he just cut himself down...

Id rather he hung himself instead of paying for his worthless ass for years.

The girls he kidnapped would have rather seen him waste away in prison. Guys like him dont believe in a hell after death so therefor it doesnt exist. Prison was his only hell.

All he did was escape his punishment.

In his case he's proven that a life in prison was hell for him, which is what he deserved. By letting him kill himself they rewarded him, his punishment is over, he could have rotted in jail for 30 years.

i wonder if the girls he held captive are happy he's off the face of the earth or they would rather he have had to live as a captive himself for as long as possible.

i was reading a tangential story interviewing a uk pyschologist who was pretty adamant that this was his last slap in the face of those girls, and that by his voluntarily killing himself, he is purposely choosing to deny them justice.

i don't really know what to think of that sort of thing. if those girls never thought of that, stories like that certainly plant the seed and make their road to even a chance of living a normal life more difficult.

Not one that exists after death.

All long-term prisoners should be allowed to off themselves. It saves everyone lots of time and money. There is no better closure for the victims, than the death of the bad guy.
