Stephen Harper had a showdown with Vladimir Putin on Saturday, telling the Russian leader to "get out of Ukraine" in a dustup at the Group of 20 summit in Australia.

Harper's spokesman, Jason MacDonald, said the prime minister was speaking to a group of G20 leaders at a private leaders' retreat on Saturday morning when Putin approached and extended his hand.

MacDonald said Harper told Putin: "I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: You need to get out of Ukraine."

Answer: None of this would've happened if there was a non-interventionist foreign policy to begin with. ISIS was trained, funded and armed by the west while they were in Syria. My point is more about the attitude than the number of soldiers left there. This kind of behavior is only ok when "the good guys" of the imperial west do it. Anyone else is horrible and tyrannical and evil if they do it.

Bottom line is no one should act this way, leave your neighbors alone and mind your own business. True free trade, not the farce with tariffs and subsidies etc, and voluntary interactions should be the order of the day. Unfortunately, this is not likely to ever take hold as much as it should and that's why a strong defensive military is still necessary.

I get the point, there is poverty and homelessness in North America. Most of them are mentally ill or drug/alcohol addicts, we don't force people into hospitals like 30 years ago. Most of those people want to be left alone, there are programs for them, they choose not to take advantage of them.

I don't live in the United States, I wish I did. I don't know another country where you can live as well, definitely not Canada. I see homes all over the United States, nice homes, for under 100K. With a 30K annual income you can live well in the United States, can't really support a family well on it but if you don't have the skills or work ethic to make more than 30K you have no business having children. Which is part of the poverty problem in the US.
