Good thing that Germany is economically well, as there might be tendency for certain deja-vu stuff (unnamed in here).

But it rapidly became clear that most here are protesting against high levels of immigration and asylum seekers.

A few years ago such scenes would have been inconceivable in this country. Many in Germany are ashamed and horrified - not just by the numbers at this demonstration but by support for right-wing groups elsewhere.

What has startled politicians, though, is that many in the crowds at Dresden are not extremists or neo-Nazis. As conservative politician Wolfgang Bosbach puts it, these are concerned mothers and pensioners.

The sheer numbers at recent demonstrations are forcing a public discussion around immigration. It's a debate with which many feel deeply uncomfortable. But it's a debate which many also say can no longer be ignored."

Strange that the BBC call them asylum seekers when they are in Germany, when they come here the Beeb calls them economic migrants.
All of the UK media try and call them migrants now instead of asylum seekers, that's the upper echelons trying to make the threat seem cuddly.

The media and establishment in germany is the ones that keep saying it's rascist to say anything negative about immigration, no wonder it ends up being uncomfortable to discuss. But people must think for themself and have a mindset of a critic. Angela Merkel says she is ashamed of the protests in dresden, you know what? the german people should be ashamed of Angela who don't listen or care what the german people have to say.

This is a type of brainwash that's been on heavy duty for the last 10-20 years. The protesters in dresden have atleast awaken and they are neither extremists or neo-Nazis just concerned citizens that now believes enough is enough.

Time for Angela to permanently step aside and sit in a comfortable chair and do some knitting instead of trying to castrate the german people with her daily bullshit. She can take her good hearted apostles of the german establishment with her as well.

All in the name of being political correct. In the end that's what's going to kill people's freedom and possibly start a new major war if they don't stop to distort the facts. The very same war they said EU is supposed to prevent.

My friend who has been somewhat much in Germany says Germans are still kinda mini-nazis. Probably Germans would be more openly "racists" without the Nazi past. I think that they would make better decisions altogether without the Nazi past, as now they are trying to hide uncomfortable issues so that they won't be blamed as Nazis or something like that. Better to deal with issues before there is another Hitler.

Canada needs to follow Germany's lead...take it a step farther and send the radical religion crife out to sea on leaky boats.

My friend did say that mini-nazi thing, I didn't ask for definition. He probably meant somewhat racist and somewhat authoritarian people/ society. And nazis were much more than just putting jewish into concentration camps.

but first and foremost there are people demonstrating that fear someone is taking something away from them - people that 25 years ago flooded western Germany when running away from eastern Germany. now they fear islamisation in a part of Germany that has like zero point something foreigner in total

i am all for demonstrations when there's a reason - just in this case there is none.

you should read what those idiots write on Facebook, 75% can't even write one proper german sentence but demand that all foreigners must lean german immediately (we're mostly talking about people fleeing from the war in Syria here - they have other problems for now)

there are several Facebook pages already that just collect spelling mistakes from germans demanding others should learn german - it's highly comical

In Canada we harvest all the (so-called) writers who totally bastardize the english language and give them jobs in the mainstream media - mostly newspaper columnists and reporters. We take away their access to spellcheckers and dictionaries - since they wouldn't bother to utilize them anyways.

I am all for treating normal muslims the same way like normal christians or any other religion - with no extra rights or benefits and the same obligations.

Thing is though... Those stupid people marching with the neo-nazis are doing it because the establishment portrays any such attitudes as racism. Just look at the growth of nationalist parties around Europe. Some have doubled in size during the past few years, some are even part of their countries' governments.

It's not like the number of racists has doubled in the last five years or so. But they're the only ones trying to do something about the growing immigration issues. Many of their voters would likely vote for other parties, should those have a spine and address these issues. But they don't.

Both the media and the established parties are cowering behind political correctness, scared shitless of being called racists. At the same time they're labeling citizens as racists, simply because they they switch party allegiances due to their growing concerns about immigration.

That's also a reason why they're often turning a blind eye to this Sharia imbecility, because if they address it head-on they fear they'll be labeled as racists.

So in reality all this shit is their fault. If they had grown a set of balls and dealt with it, none of this would've happened.
