Time to buy a new car

It's time for me to buy a new car... I love my Jeep and I'm going to keep it, but I miss having a sports car. I have an older Mustang that I am restoring (for years now) but I want something new.... I am really into the Dodge Challenger... What else is out there I should be looking at?

My wife will be out of town this weekend so I can do it without her trying to tell me no.

Rochard 10-13-2017 04:24 PM

No one wants to help me pick a new car?

Barry-xlovecam 10-13-2017 05:02 PM

Can't help you really. But if I was 30 years younger I might look at a Charger. I had a 69 Challenger :) a long ass time ago .

pimpmaster9000 10-13-2017 05:09 PM

Get a retro Corvette...

Barry-xlovecam 10-13-2017 05:17 PM

You want a new or very late model automobile or truck for everyday use.

Old cars have frame rot, gasket rot, rubber parts rot and now the ethanol ratios in gasoline are rising.

TheDynasty 10-13-2017 06:02 PM

buy a tesla!

Love my loaded Optima. Infinity sound system. Dual moon roof. Leather heated and cooled seats. 2.4L @ 200hp - it'll do 157mph redline. Dual climate controls. Built-in NAV.

I would say it sounds like you're looking for a divorce but (I'm not married but may as well be) I'd do the same. In fact I did it last week and I'm doing it again next. :) The next is a vette. That one is really going to piss her off.. Even though she knows it's been coming.

Is that a fucking Kia? Yeah, NO.

I don't care how nice it is, I highly doubt I'll ever own a Japanese car.

Pass.

Not at all. The running joke in our family is that every year my wife would head down to SoCal to see family for Christmas, and every year I showed up in a new Mustang. My wife doesn't care much what I do.

why not new mustang ?

Barry-xlovecam 10-14-2017 06:24 AM

It a Buy Made in America thing.
American made vehicles used to be a lot less expensive to service and repair in the USA. Not so sure now with regard to Toyota's (and the like) made in the US vehicles now.

Sarn 10-14-2017 07:40 AM

or buy American

That "fucking Kia" is Korean, designed by German Peter Shreyer of Audi - and built in Georgia, USA.

Dumb fucking imbecile.

^^ THIS ^^ !!

If you really want a gas musclecar, I've always liked the Chargers and Camaros. I owned a brand new 2009 and 2013 Camaro (2SSRS and 2SSRS-1LE).

The 1LE had a really hard suspension which I thought I would like but grew to hate, and its performance tires wore out too fast. If I was going to buy another Camaro today, I'd pick comfort options over super-duper handling and stick with the 2SS.

I don't know much about the Chargers except that they have a killer look to them. Its retro stylings make it a stand-out too.

If you have the big bucks, why not a Corvette? The new ones are drop-dead beautiful in my opinion. Just stunning looking machines.

It's not American. I will not drive a Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Kia, etc. I will also not drive a BMW, Mercedes, etc.

I don't care if the car is designed by a German "of Audi" and built in the US - It's not an American car company. The only exception to this would be Jaguar and Ferrari. Before the Jeep I had a Jaguar, and I've own Mazdas before.

Keep buying domestic. Those overpaid, unionized fatasses that asembled your "American" car thank you.

And thankfully you likely don't have anything saying "Made in China" in your home, too.

Paul Markham 10-15-2017 02:42 AM

Buy a bike.

Speigelau 10-15-2017 03:39 AM

I saw you mention you were restoring an old mustang, if you've never owned a new one I would consider that, they are great cars. Since you've gone solar and are more eco-conscious now, maybe consider a Chevy Volt.

Klen 10-15-2017 03:59 AM

Ford Fiesta FTW Tho, i rather buy old car like Impala then new one.

mineistaken 10-15-2017 04:40 AM

Will it have crooked sticker on its bumper?

Busty2 10-15-2017 05:29 AM

It all depends on how much you want to spend ?
If i was looking for a new car with a budget of around $150,000. I would have these guys build me a classic muscle car from the 60s or 70s You would never see another one like it ! KINDIGIT DESIGN

I'm not too fond of the way the new Mustangs look, both inside and out. I like how the retro look they have, but it just doesn't appeal to me.

I don't like the Chevy Volt. A Tesla might be an option in the future.

GFED 10-15-2017 07:29 PM
