Epassporte? Who else stole more money from the industry as a whole?

My sales did not recover for a year after the DeeCash fiasco. I mentioned in another thread I got threatening phonecalls in the middle of the night from some dude who was ripped off for $300+ dollars on his banged credit card...

I lost 4 figures from epassporte, I was soooooo stupid to leave a balance on that card! Live and learn...

Sponsors that turned off affiliate rebills.

I was still somewhat of a newb during the iBill debacle so dodged that thankfully.. but for me it was ePassporte

I arrived in Vegas with $20 cash in my pocket, a blackamex and my epassporte card.

As soon as I used epassporte they locked the card and would only reactivate it by phone to my home number once I was back in Australia. That was 6 months before they went belly up and thankfully it saved me because of the Vegas fiasco, I'd already removed all my $$ and told them to get fucked.

Being in Vegas with no cash sucks, even the fucking cabs in the early 00's didn't take credit cards... however stretched limos did ;)

This is a big one for me too. I had several sponsors over the last 20 years that cut off lifetime rebills :(

Epassporte cost me about $0 because I was able to pull my money out and even got it out for a few people here.

Deecash cost me about $25,000?

Teenrevenue cost me perhaps $10,000?

X-Profits perhaps $12,000?

various others add up to $40,000 or so?

Part of the business I guess.

What was the name of his garbage-ass billing company? He scammed a couple of the people who worked on AutoBlogger also. Said it was all for his daughter.

Surprised no one mentionned MindGeek who stole so much content that fucked up so many companies producing exclusive content. Probably not a scam but thieves IMHO

Yeah they fucked the industry as a whole. But I was thinking more $$ like ibill epass ect. Babenet took a ton of money with them.

At least three banks closed thousands of merchant accounts last year and kept the reserves. Massive scale theft of tens of millions from people in our industry.

Yeah, and 90% of the processing headaches in this industry stem from their arrogance. Mastercard and Visa write every new rule and regulation as if every website is Pornhub.

ProAdult and then Epoch when they stopped paying out affiliate checks and passed the ball to the programs. Actually, Epoch before that, but that's another story for another day.

Was epoch bigger than ibill? Ibill had everyone there at one time.

Epoch is still going strong, one of the larger 3rd party billers out there. My issue is when they stopped paying out affiliates directly with only 2 months warning.

Think so.. some guy unfortunately took his life apparently he had a staggering amount in there.

I dropped my guard because epass came through for me when my virtual visa was defrauded for like 8k and this was before they introduced the 'wallet' feature. Looking back that whole thing did seem suspicious.. :disgust

But epass was really a godsend for international people who had to wait for weeks for checks to clear, because you could re-invest that money you got paid in traffic and whatever else right away. :pimp

It's clear a number of people here don't have their own billing MIDs. We could go right down the list and start with North American Bancard or go even higher by saying Wirecard.
