So Who's Owned A Pontiac? Admit it!!!

Back in the day I had a Pontiac Grand Prix.

It had problems and the interior was crap compared to Japanese or Euro cars but it had a 3800 V8 and when you threw the pedal down there was like a second delay but once it reved up that sucker would fly...

RIP Pontiac.

HorseShit 04-27-2009 03:13 PM

not for years

Lycanthrope 04-27-2009 03:14 PM

I'm guilty of having owned a '78 firebird in 1990.

No mullet though.

Barefootsies 04-27-2009 03:14 PM

I have.
A number of them in fact. Two Grand Ams, two Fieros, and... maybe 1 more.

Rochard 04-27-2009 03:16 PM

My wife had a firebird when I first met her. What a kick ass car that was!

Dvae 04-27-2009 03:17 PM

Second car I ever owned was a 1976 Grand Prix. It was quite a car.

candyflip 04-27-2009 03:17 PM

I'm going to try and score a new G8 for peanuts.

After Shock Media 04-27-2009 03:18 PM

I also had a Pontiac Grand Prix, actually was even a LE with a tinted T-top. Was a decent car. It was destroyed in a head on collision with another Pontiac Grand Prix.

hottshot 04-27-2009 03:18 PM

First car I owned was a 1969 Lemans Sweet car

I had a 74 le mans and it was FUCKING AWESOME... almost bought another one a few weeks ago...

GothBuXXX 04-27-2009 03:24 PM

My 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP was a nice car. Fast as hell too. Well for what it was. I killed some eclipses at least :D

gmr324 04-27-2009 03:36 PM

It's a sad day and I don't think GM will be stopping the axing with just the Pontiac line

Robbie 04-27-2009 03:37 PM

Bought my daughter a Solstice last year. :) She loves it.

BSleazy 04-27-2009 03:40 PM

I got a 94 Firebird with t-tops after I graduated high school.

Si 04-27-2009 03:56 PM

I still want a solstice.

fusionx 04-27-2009 04:00 PM

88 Grand Am - decent little car while I was in the Navy. Tiny little Quad Four engine - would smoke camaros and firebirds in short races :)

90 Grand Prix - best car I've ever owned, as far as reliability goes.. nothing ever broke in over 120,000 miles, except the brake light switch and the water pump.

2000 Bonneville - piece of shit, my last Pontiac.

Spunky 04-27-2009 04:02 PM

I had a Trans Am back in the 80's

Easton 04-27-2009 04:26 PM

i think our HOA forbids them inside the property gates (except for the help of course)

bronco67 04-27-2009 04:29 PM

You all know what Pontiac stands for, right?

My first car was a 71 pontiac sunbird. I was a huge POS but it lasted me about a year until I got out of high school and got a job so I could buy a decent car.

NaughtyRob 04-27-2009 04:52 PM

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am right now. Lots of costly repairs in the past 2 1/2 yrs.

NaughtyRob 04-27-2009 04:53 PM

But yeah, I LOVE the acceleration.

Dennis69 04-27-2009 05:02 PM

I still own a 88 Grand Am 2.0L turbo which is in mint condition... it's never seen winter driven and I've only seen 1 more around here, the rest are in the junkyard because of the salt, I just had the motor bored out 60 over and I can keep up with 5.0 L Mustangs for the fun of it, it's quite the sleeper and they get quite the shock :1orglaugh

SonOfaBeach 04-27-2009 05:12 PM

I had a red '77 Trans Am around 1989 (that I used to delivery pizzas in :1orglaugh). I'm no muscle car freak - but I *did* love my Trans Am!!

baddog 04-27-2009 05:46 PM

I owned a beautiful Bonneville SSE.

mynameisjim 04-27-2009 06:17 PM

I had Fiero a Loooong time ago. Had a shop drop a Buick v6 in it and the thing screamed. I still own it in storage but it needs a ton of work. Would do 0-60 in the low 5's in it's prime and handled pretty good with a few tweaks. It had really bad understeer by design but once you took that out it was totally balanced.

Vendzilla 04-27-2009 06:39 PM

I've had a couple, last one was a 1990 grand turbo coupe, thing was fucking fast

Nope, it was blue with a white top. Made high school fun on backroads in the Texas countryside.
