I loved the look on the faces of the phaggots at the Mac store
when I returned my new mack book pro 2 weeks after buying it. You have 2 weeks to return the product. They tried to charge me a restocking fee but after making a huge scene in front of a crowd of other customers they decided to just give me a full refund.
Seriously, Mac is the biggest fucking rip off ever. It does have some advantages like less likely to get viruses. But you are paying double for a basically a computer that looks more stylish and is easier to use. The reason I bought one was so I would know more about AAPL products. Now I know why I shorted AAPL stock on Friday. :321GFY complaints: 1. Cannot open up multiple windows of same thing. I have several gmail accounts and like to have them all open sometimes. On a shitty Mac I have to close out of one gmail account before I open another. 2. So much cool software does not have a version for the mac 3. ICQ work like shit when I downloaded it. 4. Double the fucking cost of a comparable windows machine :1orglaugh 5. The track pad is fucking dumb as shit. I know the proper finger sweeps in order to increase text but the hunk of shit I was sold increased the text size on the screen over and over even when I was just moving the cursor around. I was not in any way making the finger/thumb motion that is saved for changing text size . This was SO FUCKING ANOYING as every 15 minutes the god damed text would all of a sudden get really big for no freaking reason. 6. Ever notice the "Mac geniuses" that work at the store have absolutely no Mac product knowledge? 7. Some software I needed cost double than comparable software for a PC (different company made the software but had similar features) 8. Did I mention they cost fucking double????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9. The Mac mighty mouse is fucking garbage. 10. I hate the cult-like attitude that Mac people have. You can tell a person who uses a Dell that you don't like the company and they will not really give a shit. People who use PCs have better things to do with their time than worship their overpriced dumbed down trendy computer. 11. Often when I try to click out of a screen I have to click like 5 times to get the thing to close. I have the point of the cursor directly over the red circle when I do this. WTF????????? |
All of the things you mentioned are because you're retarded, they have nothing to do with a mac.

I never was a Mac fan UNTIL I discovered Final Cut Studio. FCS kept me around long enough to work through the quirks and now that Adobe came back to Mac, I can do everything I need from planning to shooting/capture to editing to output. No complaints from me but the new iMac refresh is coming up to compete with lower end pc desktops.

My wife loves her Mac. I'm pretty sure you have to be the proud owner of a vagina to like them.

Joe,
"Cannot open up multiple windows of same thing." Sure you can I have 5 GFY pages open right now. Also for those of us that don't give a shit about computers but want a tool to run Photoshop, Video editing, etc on there really was no choice ... Thus making the cost a non issue. Like you said it really is easier to use. . |

Macs are for people who are clueless about computers and are willing to pay more to get much less in a pathetic bid to be "hip".......... simpletons and fools. :2 cents:

I switched to Mac back in Dec. Since then I've bought 3 and got rid of all my PC/Windows machines. But before I did, I picked up a book from Amazon written for folks who are thinking about switching from PC to Mac. I also did research on software that I would need. A little bit of homework on your end would have saved you a lot of time & effort. Some people :Oh crap |

For those who are thinking of switching to the Mac, take some time and do some research first. Find out what software you'll need in order to keep your business running smoothly during the transition and price it out. Remember, Google is your friend with any issues that you may have.
Also, pick up a book (and read it) to familiarize yourself with the Mac OS system. This is a good one: http://www.deancapture.com/switching.jpg The Mac is a great system but don't expect it to run like your PC. There is a learning curve involved and depending on how much time you put in to it, it could take from a few days to a few weeks to feel comfy....even longer for some folks. There are a lot of Mac users here at GFY and they'd love to help you make the switch/adjustment. All you have to do is ask if you have an issue. |

Mac is the best thing to happen to computing, period. :thumbsup:thumbsup |
ohh well...my quadcore xp is easy enough for me to use and runs like a dream with thunderbird open + ff w 23 tabs open + excel + dreamweaver + photoshop + pidgin + FTP proggie .... not a single crash or slowdown..
I have nothing against mac.. and If I were a video editor / designer I am sure I would be using a mac but then again I can do all that with my current machine... hear hear!! |

For help. I'm talking screen size. resolution, Firewire800, the HD stats, processor stats and so forth. I've taken the time to do this personally and if you do you will find the Macbook pro actually is the same price if not cheaper. |
I bought a nearly new MacBook Pro on craigslist for $800 and its the best computer I have ever had. (using pc's since 1995) yes some programs don't work on it, so what I have 3 PCs already that can run those small outdated programs anyway. Most of the things you mentioned can be done, you just need to learn the Mac. To each his own but you are way wrong on this one.

I bought a MacBook Air in December and gave it to my girl for Christmas. She loves it and says she will never go back to a PC. I've played with her Mac a bit but have been hesitant on switching over my own stuff.
I fucked up my Sony laptop about a week and a half ago. Lucky for me, I had purchased Best Buy's extended protection and when I brought the Sony in to the store, they took a look at it then gave me a full 2k+ credit to pick out a new computer with. The only thing they had on hand in that price range was a 15" MacBook Pro. I've had the MacBook for 10 days now and I can honestly tell you it is BY FAR the best laptop I have ever owned. I LOVE the new trackpad and how easy everything is. If you do not like Mac it is most likely do to one of two things: 1: The learning curve. 2: Ignorance. I'm not trying to talk shit as those are the very reasons that have kept me away from Macs. |

http://www.whatcodecraves.com/articl...ght/index.html Multiple Gmail Accounts on OSX Done Right I learned this tip from Seggy and I've explained it to several people already. If you've fallen in love with Gmail's web interface, then you're going to love this solution. One annoyance I have on my work laptop is switching between work email and personal email. For the longest time, I suffered with using Apple Mail for work stuff and Gmail's web interface for my personal mail. I hate Apple Mail, and I hate IMAP and all it's syncing headaches. Gmail's web interface is the exact opposite. It's accessible everywhere, stays in sync, and has the best search and organizing features. My dilemna: How can I get my 2 email accounts to be into desktop applications, but keep that same amazing web interface? Enter Fluid.app. Put simply, it's an application that creates OSX app's from web pages. The generated app have menulets, so you can replace Google Notifiers. Fluid also lets you skin web pages with Javascript and CSS if you're inclined. After you install Fluid, make sure you download these gorgeous Gmail icons. When you fire up Fluid, fill in the following information: Choose one of the icons you just downloaded. I use orange for personal mail, and Coupa blue for work email. When you finish, launch the apps, login to Gmail, and viola! Here's what my dock looks like. Note how there's an indicator for the number of unread messages in my mailbox. Sweet! |
Macs sucks :) I were useing them only for a while and I couldn't stend this unusable shit....
