The World Cup happens every 4 years because that's how often someone scores, soccer sucks ass and is the most boring sport in the world to watch. For years now they've been trying to cram soccer down our throats trying to convince us it's the next big thing, but it never will be, Americans stop playing soccer in Elementary school and move onto more complex adult sports.

I've spent thousands of hours playing it and I love playing that, in this case of course I don't mind watching the pros neither, although I don't watch football for the past 8 years much, unless I really have no other way to spend two hours of time
