Hi everyone,

playing around with Comus&TTT for a couple of days (and just found this thread) and got a question regarding trades...

Am I right, when I say, that Comus AND TTT have an skimming option? So let's say the Comus Skimming-% is at "70", will only the rest of the hits (30%) be sent to the trade script (TTT), which I can configure under "Thumb trade script prefix" in the Comus-Settings? If so, do I have to set this script to "0", to make sure that these 30% of my clicks go to the trades and not to a gallery anyway?

Or a bit simpler: What do I have to do, in order to sent 30% of my clicks to trades when using Comus&TTT?

That shit is quite confusing for someone new to trade-scripts :1orglaugh

Comus uses your Trade Script. If you put 70% in Comus then its 70% in TTT or whatever your trade script is.

Just make sure to fill out the Trade Prefix in the settings.

SkyRunner 07-29-2004 04:08 PM

Damn, I think I got it now... :winkwink:

Just have to find out, how to change the skimming-% from table to table, but that won't stop me now...

Great Guide anyway, I think I'll signup to some of your sponsors! Keep it up! :thumbsup

Heres an example of the query:

#60#all-thumb-1-query-best

Change the 60 to whatever skim that you want. You can have a custom skim for any thumb you want by changing that value.

Would you accept Paypal?

Martin911 07-30-2004 08:46 AM

i haven't paypal account, only epassporte

zzgundamnzz 07-30-2004 06:21 PM

Or you could go with these guys

http://www.adultscriptservice.com/prices.html

They'll do it for $15...

Or go with Package 2 where they'll install and run the script for you for two weeks while finding productive trades.

Not too sure if these guys are around anymore though. Try them on ICQ.

Magnum Porn 07-31-2004 12:29 AM

One thing I still can't figure out is productivity.
What is meant by productive traffic, and how do you find out this information?

Thanks, Magnum.

SkyRunner 07-31-2004 06:15 AM

A productivity of 100% means, that every visitor clicks exactly 1 link. 200% would be 2 clicks from one visitor and 50% means, that only every second unique leads to a click on a gallery-link. Your traffic script has all these information for you. So you can see, which trades send good traffic and kick the others... Usually, search-engine traffic has the best productivity...

Looking forward to find out how productive my first thumb-tgp will be :glugglug

zzgundamnzz 08-02-2004 12:40 AM

Don't ICQ me if you don't even know what bandwidth and transfer are.

Learn the fuckin basics first. What do I look like your hostings tech support?

Get your shit together first... then we'll talk.

And whats with all the fuckers lately with the attitudes...

I have a question for you. I have a new site up. It is a thumb TGP
Here is the link www.sexpornpixxx.com I bought comus thumbs and had it installed they set up this page www.sexpornpixxx.com/main.html I really don't have a very good understanding of comus thumbs of course I need to link my submission page for comus thumbs which is www.sexpornpixxx.com/ct/webmaster/index.php then install and link a trading script and set up the toplist it seems to write over it and if I try to upload it disallows that. Of course if I delete or rename the main.html it puts it back. I guess I am not sure what file is controlling this

In your Comus admin.

Go to Pages -> Edit

If you wanna add anything to your page you gotta go through the template.

Thanks a lot

Does Comus make the thumbs when you import a lot of galleries, or will I need another program to do that?
The gallery program I have now isn't very good at that.

Comus can make the thumbs automatically or you can choose to crop them within Comus.

cb1999nj 08-06-2004 11:39 AM

:thumbsup thanks for posting this information... i find it to be very useful and helpful for future reference....

i've read and read articles... websites... message boards... etc... i finally took on the task of building a site... i wanted to at least try it out to see if i could do it... unexpected things came up and i never got around to getting started in searching for traffic for it...

anyhow... the site is www.ilovelatinaass.com ... i pieced together the html... and used all sponsor hosted galleries to build it... at this stage i built it as a fake tgp to get it up and started and to fill in the thumb pics... i am running no type of thumb or trade scripts... this is actually the first time i've gotten some time to get back into the swing of working on it...

if you have some free time could you tell me if you think that if i got such things as thumb and trade scripts that it would do much better... or would you suggest trying another route such as buying traffic for it... and tell me what you think of my design....

sorry to all for my state of newbie-ness..... i want and have the desire to learn and improve and in the future help others as you all are helping me.... thanks to all :cool-as-a

Magnum Porn 08-07-2004 10:49 AM

I am working on a TGP with only one category. Is there a way to have comus randomly select galleries from the data base everytime it rebuilds the page.
What I would like to do is show all new galleries every 10 minutes or so or everytime the refresh button is hit.

Magnum.

Magnum Porn 08-07-2004 12:43 PM

What I meant was randomly select galleries without aging them so I never run out of galleries and have to wait.

Magnum.

Now im not saying his credibility is shot, heck, the least he deserves for providing you with a tutorial on how to make thousands of dollars a month is a finders fee. All I mean to say is make sure you research what you're getting into before you blow all your money on it, what was said in this post is just one mans opinoin and not a guaranteed recipe to make money. :) If you know anything about our economy you should know the fallacy of composition. What's good for one person is NOT neccessarily good for all.

Best of luck!

That's pretty much what I'm doing ... but it doesn't seem to me that zzgundamnzz's method is prohibitively expensive; the only thing (as I understand it) that would be costly is the feeder traffic, which, as you said, can be built slowly by submitting galleries with reciprocals to other TGP's.

[Build Control]
Auto Random -> Yes

Operational Control Settings
Hold Period -> 1 Day

If you do it every 10 minutes you'll use 6 thumbs per hour which is 144 thumbs a day.

You should put in atleast 1-2K of galleries so your content never goes flat and comus can do its job by selecting the best thumbs.

Set the hold period to a week if you have alot of galleries.

zzgundamnzz 08-09-2004 10:58 AM

Time for a small update:

Forget what I said about TTT in the first page.

They have a C Version that gives your traffic back for the first month...

Just tried it on one of my sites and it kicks ass :thumbsup

pood 08-16-2004 12:23 AM

zzgundamnzz, how are you planning on following the new 2257?

I know that your using all hosted gals, like me.

are you linking them to teh sponser sites or downloading all of the custodian of records to your site?

Im going to wait til they actually do pass the new regulations. If they do pass they'll give the people time to change there stuff and to become compliant. I think it was 30 days...

But as of now Im not changing a thing til everything is clarified. Im not going to let other peoples bs and speculation cripple my business.

Khun 08-16-2004 01:58 PM

With the new 2257 BS, I am switching my comus to a link based site (which fucking sucks seeing as I dont know what I am doing.) The good thing about doing this is the much lower bandwidth pull from not having all the pics and also having a much broader list of galleries.

Now as for shit that I am having go wrong, I ma using Arrow Trader Light and it is not counting any of the clicks in. I have the include line on all of my pages (just I get hits to a sub category by some unknown FUBAR code). What the fuck gives? I have been trying to get this going now for a while and getting a little fed up. Also, if anyone is really nice, can you look at my site and lett me what the queries should look like for my Hall of Fame (best galleries ever), Todays Galleries (shit sent in and put to list the prior day), and Yesterday's galleries (The name is wrong and I am going to change it from yesterday to Past Galleries but I want the last 50 and then 50 random from the database). These should all be the same in all categories with the exception of the category protion of the query so they all should look similar, or at least so I would think.

Isidoro Caņones 08-17-2004 09:59 AM

Anybody have any experience with ap|tgpē? how do you compare it with comusthumbs?

xlogger 08-18-2004 02:14 AM

damn, this is like the BEST thread on this whole fucking board.

retrograde 08-18-2004 08:53 AM

Is there one free traffic trade script that you would suggest over others? Perhaps TTT, since it's been mentioned several times already. It seems to be pretty popular.

zzgundamnzz 08-18-2004 10:04 AM

If you're going with a free trade script either go with TTT C Version or Arrow Trader Lite.

For the guy that asked to compare APTGP2 with Comus you can't. They're not in the same class. APTGP2 can be compared with AGSQL. But Comus' competitor is Thumbmanager.

Ok, now you lost me totally here :D

Why you can't compare them? I mean, what's the biggest difference between them? I thought that both were Thumbnail Gallery Management systems.

They are both thumbnail management systems. But then again a Honda Civic and a Porsche are also cars.

Go to each of their sites and compare the prices and features and you'll see what Im talking about.

I have a TGP going,
I just bought a little bit of traffic, some test traffic. Not too much.

After about 2+ weeks, I just made my first sale yesterday.
I'm only getting 3000/day on avg though.
Someone wanna take a look at it and let me know what i could do to improve the look and productivity maybe?

www.blackoutsteens.com
Two Other Domains I own, but haven't used yet are:
someasians.com and somelatina.com
Are these good niche names? I thought they were short and catchy.

I'm also looking for a new host. I saw someone said they host for free for people sometimes. was that on this thread?
Cuz I'm running low on bandwidth, and I hate overage charges lol

Yeah, so give me any advice you can, and I'll appreciate anything.

How much bandwidth are you using btw? And what hosting company are you with right now?

BTW you made a good decision in getting different niches. You'll get better money by doing different niches.

blackout 08-20-2004 01:43 PM

I figured I had one site for teens, didn't need another... So I got those domain names.

I'm using a little bit over 40GB/month right now, but I was hosting my TGP galleries on blackoutsteens.com before, my pay-host(www.dreamhost.com) but now I have them on a freehost (www.kinghost.com) on domain www.blackoutsteens.net. So that cuts the bandwidth down a bit.

Dreamhost really sux, but it's what I can afford for the time-being.

Did you try running the installer? What does it tell you?

husker6274 08-24-2004 11:20 PM

i had to switch servers, that's why it's not working yet.

I have read this board several times now. I have taken some advice. How do I know if i have or get all the requirements:
example:
PHP4 with MySql.
Zend Optimizer.
Image Magick and GD for PHP preferably 32bit GD2.
Wget for the auto installer

you made it seem easier than what it is. Is there somewhere I can go to get more detailed instructions. I've been to cozy and other resource sites. how did everybody get started, because everyone here i'm sure was just like me: anxious but ignorant.
i know i'll get answers like "maybe this business isn't for you" but i'll like to try first.
thank you

Its running it when its finally installed - thats the hard part.
