Without proper legislation these guys were allowed to do as they pleased.
They repeated the process that brought about the Depression. Buying and selling $1 bills for $2. And paying themselves a huge bonus on the back of non existent profits. Saw it coming was the weak answer. Remembered it happening the same way as before and doing nothing to stop it. Was the right answer. Is legislation in place to stop it happening again? No because for a short while Governments profit from the illusion. Then when the shit hits the fan, they bail out the banks who restart the process. |
