Clever idea.

Can't actually think of anything negative about it either.

really cool! 2 questions though:

- does the increased amount of purchases outnumber the groceries delivery fee (manhours, fuel)?
- coming to think of it, it may broadly affect their offline sales

apart from that, it's a pretty neat idea

cool idea but i already have grocery stores with websites for online shopping and delivery - and it's more expensive which i am assuming is true in Korea too for home delivery.

then there's the expense of buying that display space for your virtual grocery shelves in high traffic spots like subways - i can only imagine what a big city subway system would charge a grocery chain for that much signage/display space.

Well I think it will reduce a lot of operational overhead costs (rent, shopping space, employment costs) while for sure the delivery and logistic operations will become more intensive.

From an advertisement point of view this brings huge advantages for advertisers. Imagine you can rent time blocks to project your campaigns on big interactive (touch) screens in subway stations. This will be a live showroom of your shop where you can reach you (new) consumers.

This vid is a great example how the future will look like in terms of digital advertisement

it's all sweet but how they made profit , must be some limit what you all have to buy and not under some minimum to be good for both sides

Yes, I've used PeaPod through Stop&Shop and its definitely more expensive. But as all similar things, you always pay a little more for the covenience factor.

Tesco already have the barcode scanner app that let's you add items in the house to your shopping list as you run out or need more of them.

I think it's a great little app, makes things easier for us.

We sometimes use safeway home delivery.... the extra cost is the delivery charge, it's $7-$9. Other than that, it's the same costs as what is in the store & the products we get are fresher than what's in the store!

sounds good for pre packaged stuff but i wouldn't want to buy cuts of meat that way or vegtables..never know what you are getting is really going to be the same or fresh.

They would make more money if they stole all the food from E-Mart and gave it away for free.

Food could be the new loss leader. I'm sure there are huge profits in selling plastic bags and parking fees.

For perishable items? Meat, Produce ? NO
For staple items and bakery ? YES

That is my thinking for reason of the variation in quality.

Good marketing idea tho ....

looks cool but why not just do online grocery shopping like we have over here, just search for what you want, rather than having to walk up and down a probably crowded subway station finding a photo of what you're after.

did look cool though

Some locations would be better to shop than others.......After the Friday night pub crowd have pissed all over the Subway banners, choosing meat on a Saturday morning won't be quite as attractive.

thanks for posting this. nonadult.com just added QR code banner options for all its offers and this video is a good working example to show curious publishers.
