Greek Riots and the Teachers Strike in the UK Tomorrow

It all going on over here in Greece and the UK

The austerity riots and demonstrations in Greece have been on going and Im wondering if we will see more demonstrations and riots over here in the uk over the next few months with a huge strike planned in the UK for tommorrow.

Who is taking part in Thursday's strikes?

Four unions in total. Three teaching unions - the National Union of Teachers (NUT), the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) and the University and College Union (UCU) - have voted to strike. They have 220,000, 80,000 and 55,000 members respectively, who are eligible to strike. They will be joined by an estimated 250,000 members of the PCS, who include air traffic controllers, coastguards, prison workers and customs and immigration staff. The PCS union also represents staff at the Department for Work and Pensions and Jobcentres.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13932304

The unions are saying if the goverment dont listen they will carry out further strikes

This has the potential to turn nasty over the comming months if something is not sorted out and i hope it doesnt end up with a load of riots in the end

The world has gone crazy ...

After being harrassed by the teachers union the prime minister later said "I will not tolerate another NUT in my face."

I do lol... I dought there will be any riots today as its just a huge strike but if it there is no settlement between the gov and the workers and they stage demonstrations in later months, then we might start seeing riots.

They are all NUT jobs anyway

Their Governments borrowed money like there was no tomorrow. Often to pay those stiking or rioting. Tomorrow has arrived and the money has run out.

Do these people want to go back to the real world? No they want those who have to live in the real world, private sectors workers, to take all the cuts and keep them in clover.

It's not going to happen and the sooner they realise that the sooner they can work at a real solution.

The banking sector speculated recklessly creating a bubble not based on reality provoking a financial crisis which brought the banking system to the abyss. Then the same people who spend their lives condemning state support for the poor, health service, education took state bail outs of mind boggling dimensions in the billions.

These people having no shame continue to pay themselves immense bonuses and rewards.

The people who are expected to pay for this are the normal working people in reduced income, pensions, health and eduction.

The government continues to waste billions on nuclear weapons and foreign wars.

The private press and TV, owned and controlled by the rich, present the problem as one of poor gov and private / public workers, divide and rule.

The stupid believe them.

Oh christ, you sound like FOX News. The current economic climate isn't the fault of teachers and postal workers.

No shit, eh? Talk about the heist of the century, which I'm assuming is what will be written in the history books regarding these bailouts. Well, I guess depends who wins, and gets to write the history books.
